A 26-year-old man has been jailed for eighteen years for defiling two minors aged five and six.
The man was imprisoned by the Suhum Circuit Court, presided over by Her Honour Akua Adu Boahen.
The 26-year-old loading boy was convicted of abusing two minors at Dan Villa, a suburb of Suhum in the Eastern Region.
The man has been identified as Aboagye Dacosta, also known as ‘Kwabota’.
He was found guilty after a full trial and handed 18 years on each count, to run concurrently.
UTV Ghana, which shared the information on social media, stated, “The Suhum Circuit Court, presided over by Her Honour Akua Adu Boahen, has sentenced a 26-year-old loading boy to 18 years’ imprisonment for defiling two minors aged five and six at Dan Villa, a suburb of Suhum in the Eastern Region.
The convict, Aboagye Dacosta, also known as ‘Kwabota,’ was found guilty after a full trial and handed 18 years on each count, to run concurrently”.
In related news, A Circuit Court in Bekwai has sentenced a commercial motorbike rider (Okada) to 10 years’ imprisonment for sexually assaulting a five-year-old boy.
The Okada rider has been identified as Baffour Kwakye, a 23-year-old man.
Reports suggest the incident occurred at Manso Nkwanta in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.
The Okada rider in court pleaded guilty after the trial had already begun.
Detective Chief Inspector Eric Twum told the court that the victim, a Class One pupil, lived in the same neighbourhood as the convict.
The prosecution detailed that the convict sent the young boy on an errand in May 2025 and later lured him into his room under the pretext of watching a video on the phone.
The five-year-old boy reported the incident to the mum leading to his mother, Akosua Kisiwaa, who filed a complaint with the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU).
Medical examination confirmed the abuse, leading to the arrest of the convict on 20 July 2025 at Manso Nkran in a theft case.
The Police then handed him over to the authorities at Manso Nkwanta to face his defilement charges.
The Circuit Court in Bekwai, Presiding Judge Honour Isaac Appietu, sentenced him to 120 months’ imprisonment after the trial concluded.
Additionally, the Amasaman Circuit Court has sentenced 35-year-old Daniel Darkwa to fifteen(15) years in prison.
According to reports, Daniel Darkwa has been sentenced to fifteen years in prison with hard labour for the defilement of a 13-year-old girl at his home in Amasaman.
Reports suggest the convict, who is a close friend of the victim’s father, lured the 13-year-old into his home.
In court, the prosecution revealed that Daniel Darkwa, after having sex with the 13-year-old girl, gave her 10 cedus for school; however, the girl confided in her teacher, leading to the arrest of the convict.
In a post shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on X wrote, “The Amasaman Circuit Court has sentenced 35-year-old Daniel Darkwa to fifteen(15) years in prison with hard labour for the defilement of a 13-year-old girl at his home in Amasaman.
The convict, a close associate of the victim’s father, reportedly lured her into his home after she passed by his neighbourhood to greet her grandmother, who also lived nearby.
According to the prosecution, the convict, after having sex with the victim on November 7, 2025, gave her GH¢10 and allowed her to leave for school. The victim, however, confided in her school teacher and reported the incident, leading to the arrest of Mr Daniel”.
