Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr Agyemang Badu II, the Dormaahene and President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, has boldly stated he would never support the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) until his death.

Speaking in a viral video, the Dormaahene revealed he had been a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) before serving as a Court of Appeal judge.

He refuted claims of being a member of the ruling National Democratic Congress, arguing that he only believes in the vision of President John Dramani Mahama.

The Dormaahene stated, “I will never support the NDC. I am not affiliated with the NDC, and I will not support them till I die. But I have been an NPP member before. I joined them before I became a judge.

The way President Mahama is governing the country, anyone who says it is not in the right direction is a liar,” he said.

The Dormaahene further highlighted the Mahama government’s handling of the cedi stabilisation to the US dollar.

In related news, the Dormaahene has boldly stated he would take legal action if AG finds no corruption surrounding the National Cathedral.

The Dormahene issued a stern warning against any attempt to downplay concerns surrounding the National Cathedral.

He stressed that allegations of wrongdoing must be subjected to proper legal scrutiny.

According to him, the amount of money spent on the National Cathedral project is mind-blowing.

Speaking during President Mahama’s sod-cutting ceremony to begin the construction of major roads under the government’s ‘Big Push’ programme on Sunday, December 21, 2025, the Dormahene stated, “One of the main reasons why Ghanaians voted for you is corruption. We have seen this with the National Cathedral; the amount of money spent on that project is mind-blowing. Some of us thought it was 56 million dollars, only to find out later that it was 96 or 97 million dollars”.

“Should the Attorney General come out to say there is no issue of corruption surrounding this project, truth be told, I would take legal action against whoever is responsible. Mr President, let no one convince you that there are no issues with it. Anyone found to have defaulted must face prosecution under the law,” he added.

Additionally, the Dormaahene has praised the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for his work in the Bawku mediation.

He noted that the Asantehene’s Bawku mediation work deserves commendation, as the task was a difficult one.

He further cautioned the Ghanaian public against speaking negatively or belittling the mediation efforts.

According to the Dormaahene, the Asantehene deserves commendation for achieving a positive outcome.

Speaking to his subject in a viral video shared on social media, the Dormaahene cautioned, “The Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, just recently, President Akufo-Addo gave him a task, and President Mahama also asked him to continue. Some people are speaking against the work, some are Chiefs, MPs, and even the MPs’ comments. I thought it was not true because with social media, everyone can say anything”.

“I am pleading with everyone that the mediation efforts carried out by the Asantehene, in Bawku was a difficult one and deserve commendation, given the difficulty of the task he undertook, and there is no criticism needed; anyone engaging in that should desist from it”, he added.
