A polling agent of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on Ghanaians to allow President John Dramani Mahama contest the 2028 presidential election for a third term.

According to the NPP polling agent, President Mahama should be allowed to compete so he can face off with Kennedy Agyapong.

He confidently stated that Kennedy Agyapong will defeat President Mahama by a landslide victory for the NPP.

Speaking in a viral video, the NPP polling agent stated, “Even for Mahama, I want him for 2028, him versus Kennedy Agyapong, so Ghanaians should allow him to contest for a third term, and we will also put forward Kennedy Agyapong.

As for me, I agree with Mahama to come for a third term, so we can see who is who”.

“There will be no war in Ghana; Mahama is not a bad person, he is a good person, he should contest for a third term so he would lose badly”, he added.

Some netizens reacting to the NPP polling agent claims stated, “The party is exposing its fault lines early, signalling weakness, internal disunity, and an apparent shortage of capable leadership compounded by the fact that a polling agent is now raising concerns of this scale about winning landslide”.

One X user added, “You guys think the presidency is even for jokers! We are talking about decency x respect for that high office. U think it’s just about the party u guys are not serious. U want to rule 32 million people like ur business x family. Chale u menners r reli crazy”.

Another Ghanaian added, “This is nonsense talk, the man is not serious. It’s about we stop talking about unnecessary things and be serious in this country. Everything in this country is political”.

“I think because they interview people, they have to show their mental health report. You can’t go out and be interviewing insane people and polluting the internet”, one more X user wrote.

Meanwhile, Meanwhile, Veteran broadcaster Kwesi Pratt has cautioned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that they will be handing the opposition NPP a bonanza if they keep pushing a third-term agenda.

According to Kwesi Pratt, the NPP is in tatters, but the NDC’s third-term agenda will revive the NPP very quickly and enhance its chances.

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana, Kwesi Pratt stated, “How can we as a people, 35 million people, come to the conclusion that there is only one person who can lead us out of 35 million? That is an insult to the population.

To make the general preposition that for us long us that person is alive, he is the only person capable of leading”.

He further replied to the Majority leader in parliament, who claimed Ghanaians are calling for President Mahama to run for a third term.

“I wish he would have learnt a little more history, he would have thought twice because Ghana’s history clearly shows that it is an adventure that could lead to very dangerous consequences”, Kwesi Pratt noted.

He further explained, “If you look at our history, one of our most popular leaders was General Acheampong. Don’t forget when Gen Acheampong was being shot at the Teshie range, he was being shot to public applauds what did he do wrong? Study that history.

People should be careful about what they advocate and what they wish. I have told some of my friends that today the NPP appears to be in tatters, and the NPP would revive itself very quickly and enhance its chances of coming back to power if this third-term bid is pushed. It will be a bonanza for the NPP if they like, they should try it”.

Kwesi Pratt further highlighted that, fortunately for the NDC president, Mahama has already come out to say he is not interested, and the NDC has also stressed they are not going to support any third-term bid.
