Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, a New Patriotic Party presidential candidate hopeful, has advised Ghanaian youths to never let anyone tell them their background limits their future.

According to Dr Adutwum, Ghana’s greatest resource is not gold or oil, it is the youths.

He highlighted that he sees the hustle Ghanaians youths go through with the early mornings and the late nights.

Dr Adutwum stressed that when the youths rise with discipline, skills, and hope, the nation rises with them.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, January 4, 2026, Dr Adutwum wrote, “My young brothers and sisters of Ghana, I see your hustle. I see the early mornings, the late nights, the dreams that refuse to die.

Never let anyone tell you that your background limits your future. Ghana’s greatest resource is not gold or oil, it is you. When the youth rise with discipline, skills, and hope, the nation rises with them. Your time is coming. Prepare for it”.

Meanwhile, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has said he plans to reduce the death rate in Ghana if he becomes president.

Speaking during an interview with Kwame Tanko on Lawson Afisem, the politician disclosed that he has plans to reduce death rates in Ghana.

He asserted that he has noticed that the death rate has escalated to an extremely worrisome level; hence, he plans to reduce it, if not stop it totally.

Dr Adutwum stated, “We are dying too early, there is no longevity, if you grow old, then it means God has helped you. When you go to the villages and towns, you will see young people’s images with the inscription ‘gone too soon’, ‘painful exit’, ‘what a shock’. What policy can we implement to tackle this?”

“Have you heard of any party campaigning about this before?” he quizzed.

He added, “ Before the year ends, a lot of Ghanaians die from road accidents, but in some countries, they have a policy that deals with these things. My campaign is about how we can help Ghanaians to live better”.

Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum went on to add that one of his dreams is also to help eradicate poverty in Ghana.

Also, Dr Adutwum has recounted how he escaped death in the line of duty for Ghana.

The former Education Minister revealed he was almost killed during a regional tour to promote the implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy while returning from Bawku to Buipe.

According to Dr Adutwum, the attackers were masked and fired multiple shots at his vehicle.

Speaking in an interview on Joy News, Dr Adutwum narrated, “One of my journeys back from Bawku, Buipe, my car was shot at, literally killed on the line of duty. I almost lost my life,” he said.

When I went to the Buipe Police Station, they said it had never happened before. Nobody has ever shot into a government vehicle because they know you don’t carry money. Normally, they will attack traders and not somebody in a Land Cruiser. I almost lost my life”, he recounted.

When asked if he thinks it was a targeted assassination, he replied, “I don’t know, but all that I know is that the side of my car was bullet-ridden, and I saw these people who had masks on.

“We turned a corner; we saw them with their masks on, and then they started shooting. My driver had to do a zigzag, go this way, come this way, to dodge the bullets. It was a very difficult day, and we escaped that”, Dr Adutwum narrated.

Dr Adutwum continued, “I remember the Chief of Staff on the phone with me throughout the night to make sure I arrived in Kumasi safely. When we got to the Buipe Police station, and we stopped, that is when the tyre went flat. They shot into the tyre nonstop, so that they could stop there. So, I was almost killed in the line of duty for this country.
