News“Anybody at all can fall sick” - Malik Basintale speaks on ‘stroke’ rumours

Malik Basintale, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), has finally broken his silence concerning rumours surrounding his health.

The YEA CEO stressed that sickness had nothing to do with one’s status or power, adding that anybody at all can fall sick.

Speaking in a viral video shared on X, the Basintale boy stated, “We are all human beings, and so long as I have flesh and blood running through my veins at any point in time, anyone can fall sick.

It is part of nature that you can be sick, and you can be healthy, and so when I hear people say Basintale is sick, Basintale is dead and all of that anybody can die, you can die, I can die, anybody can fall sick with death it has nothing to do with how mighthy or powerful you are only almighty Allah determines…”, he added.

Also, photos of Malik Basintale have surfaced on social media after he officially resumed work amid rumours surrounding his health.

In the viral photo shared by JOYFM, Malik Basintale was captured with a smile on his face, engaging the Youth Employment Agency staff on their 2026 priorities.

It will be recalled that last year, rumours were flying all over social media alleging that the YEA CEO was sick and seriously battling a stroke.

The reports even suggested that Malik Basintale had been flown out of the country for medical treatment following the alleged ill health.

The rumour spread due to the YEA CEO’s hiatus from social media platforms for some weeks.

A netizen posted, “Chairman Abronye sends his best wishes to Basintale, wishes him a speedy recovery as he seeks health care abroad according to Chairman Abronye.

This is sad! Our thoughts and prayers are with you, bro”.

However, in a post on Facebook on Sunday, November 16, 2025, the Deputy National Communication Officer of the ruling NDC described the alleged news as fake news.

According to the Basintale boy, there is no stroke, and there is no London trip for medical treatment.

In a post on Facebook, he wrote, “Kurugu Toli: ton ton je!! Ignore the false news… No stroke, no London!”.

Also, The1957News shared a virtual interview with Basintale in excellent condition, beaming with smiles.

In a post on X, along with the video, they stated, “The Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has refuted circulating rumours about his health, telling a member of The1957News team during a video call that he is in excellent condition”.
