Charles Bissue, the National Administrator of the Ken Agyapong campaign, has quizzed his critics on what they refer to as “presidential material”.
Mr Bissue quizzed whether they are referring to GTP or Printex when they talk of presidential material.
According to Mr Bissue, Ken Agyapong’s political appeal is rooted in his ability to connect with ordinary party supporters.
He described him as a natural crowd puller, arguing that Ken’s popularity and grassroots strength, rather than elite branding, should define a presidential contender.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Charles Bissue dismissed claims the former Assin Central MP is not “presidential material he asked, “I beg them, is it GTP or Printex when they talk of presidential material? What exactly do they mean by material?”
“Kennedy Agyapong is like a magnet, and over the years, he has proven it,” he said.
He further added, “If we want, we can assemble all the aspirants. Each of them will be assigned a day to address delegates, and we will see the number of crowds each will pull”.
“Kennedy Agyapong’s numbers will be phenomenal,” Bissue added.
“When people say presidential material, they should explain whether they are talking about branding or leadership. For us, Kennedy has shown over the years that people believe in him,” he added.
Meanwhile, Samuel Atta Akyea, the former Member of Parliament for Akim Abuakwa South, has told Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer hopeful, that a president is someone who has shock absorbers.
According to Atta Akyea, he is scared of Kennedy Agyapong’s temperament, adding that he could beat someone in Cabinet as President.
Speaking on UTV, Atta Akyea stated, “In God’s name, I will not say I have a problem with Kennedy Agyapong, I don’t even have one problem with him, but to be a president it demands a lot of things.
I am scared of Kennedy Agyapong’s temperament; I am afraid that if God is not merciful to us, he could beat someone in the Cabinet as President. He does not have a heart. I know him like the back of my palm.
There is no way you can tell Ken to calm down, in public is where he show of his temperament, things that should not be in public he does not know how to do them”.
Atta Akyea further highlighted that as president, one must have shock absorbers, which Ken Agyapong does not have.
He stressed that when competence, temperament, intellectual prowess, and vision are combined, Bawumia is ahead of Ken Agyapong.
Atta Akyea stated, “The temperament of a president is someone who has shock absorbers; it is not someone who wants to fight people if they have an issue. He is my classmate. I would have followed him so that he would appoint me as Chief of Staff. Hostile language, insulting behaviours, from a leader of the nation.
We can open doors for him as a businessman to run a big business, but if we combine competence, temperament, intellectual prowess, and vision, Bawumia is ahead. When he has gotten to how do we tame his temperament, it cannot be done, even what you are telling him is offensive to him. Those following him today are even afraid to talk to him”.
