Mussa Dankwah, the Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has thrown a shade at analysts, communicators, and self-styled political researchers following the outcome of the NPP’s 2026 presidential primary.
According to Mussa Dankwah, the wannabes do not have the eyes of what pollsters like himself see.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, February 1, Mussa Dankwah explained that Bawumia’s performance closely aligned with Global InfoAnalytics’ forecasts, missing their projection by just 0.5 per cent.
He further noted that Ken Agyapong underperformed by 4.5 per cent, putting him outside the forecasted range, adding that the Abetifi MP, Dr Bryan Acheampong, outperformed polling predictions by 5.5 per cent among undecided and previously undisclosed delegates.
He cited Ken’s controversial campaign conduct that included an insult-laden video circulating in the final weeks of the race for the drop in projected numbers.
“Such actions gave undecided delegates an opportunity to rethink their choices, and Dr Bawumia ultimately benefited from that gaffe”.
“The weekly tracking data also shows that DBA’s rise in the favourability rating was phenomenal, increasing by 5.4 in the last four weeks of the campaign compared to DMB, 2.1 and KOA, 0.1,” Dankwah said.
Mussa Dankwah further explained the difference between pollsters and researchers.
He explained that Pollsters provide the lead, and researchers go in to probe why.
“There is a difference between pollsters and researchers,” he said. “Pollsters provide the lead, and researchers go in to probe why. Pollsters can only triangulate. Small advice to wannabe party researchers: don’t turn polls into in-depth research. The objectives are not the same. Not everyone has the eyes to see what pollsters can see.”
His remarks follow, Dr Evans Duah, a Researcher, financial economist and chartered accountant, who, before the polls, claimed that none of the five New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidates would cross the 50+1 to secure an outright victory.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Point of View on Wednesday, January 28, Dr Evans Duah, however, stressed that the race remains competitive, but data shows only Ken Agyapong can cross 50+1.
According to Dr Evans Duah, his judgment is informed not only by empirical data but also by recent engagements on the ground.
He further disclosed that he engaged the middle belt and other regions last week to gauge the mood within the party ahead of primaries.
Dr Evans Duah explained, “A lot of people are missing the strategy and, if you ask me confidently, none of the five candidates will cross that 50+1 on Saturday. And if anyone does, it will be Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong. I stand by this, and it is based on data”.
“What is happening on the ground is that, from a strategy and intelligence point of view, there is a lot of social media cosmetic campaigning going on,” he said
Meanwhile, the former Vice President secured a commanding victory in the party’s presidential primary held on Saturday Janurary 31, 2026.
Dr Bawumia is now set to lead the NPP in the 2028 election as they seek to regain power from the NDC.
Dr Bawumia polled 110,645, representing 56.48 per cent of the total valid votes cast, which was confirmed by Electoral Commission officials at the party’s headquarters.
Ken Agyapong came in second place with 46, 554 votes (23.76%), while Dr Bryan Acheampong secured third position with 36,303 votes (18.53%).
They were followed by Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum in fourth place with 1,999 votes (1.02%) and Kwabena Agyei Agyepong in fifth with 402 votes, representing 0.21%.
