The Nigerian men believed the Apapa Wharf in Lagos was bound for Spain and reportedly boarded the cargo ship instead.

The vessel arrived at the Tema Port in Ghana, where port authorities discovered and detained the three Nigerians.

Ghanaian Officials have identified the suspects as Isaac Daniel, 32, Stephen Nuta, 28 and Kelvin Popoola, 26.

Some netizens reacting to the news stated, “Not again, the darkness in Nigeria is causing the citizens to get lost”.

“Congratulations for being the first Nigerians to reach Ghana via sea”, a netizen added.

Another X user added, “My concern is not about the stowaway, even though it’s illegal. But these guys will enter someone’s country illegally and will be involved in criminal activities to survive. Bringing more problems to the host country”.

“This is both sad and funny.  Just legalise their stay in Ghana and find them something meaningful for income.

It’s really hard, man must survive”, one more Ghanaian added.
