Irate Tema Central NDC executives lock up NHIS office

Irate Tema Central NDC executives have forcefully locked up the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) in Tema.

Reports suggest the NDC executives locked up the Tema NHIS office over what they describe as unfair and exclusionary appointments.

In a viral video shared, the irate NDC executives drove out all staff at the NHIS office and proceeded to lock up the main gate.

Benjamin Ims Djakumah, the Constituency Chairman, led the NDC executives into locking up the office over what he described as dissatisfaction over recent appointments to the NHIS and other public institutions in Tema.

He revealed that appointments were made without consultation with several qualified party members, being overlooked.

According to Chairman Djakumah, the leadership of the NDC in the constituency is unhappy over the sidelining of grassroots executives after they work to regain power for the party.

Henry Davidson Ayeh, the Constituency Secretary, supported the protest, adding that the grassroots feel they have just been taken for granted.

The Constituency Organiser also highlighted that the sacrifices made by party faithful in Tema Central must be acknowledged.

Some netizens reacting to the news stated, “NDC today was the NDC yesterday and will be NDC forever. They have nothing good for Ghana.

Never think Prez. Mahama is a new NDC”.

A netizen added, “One day, I hope I get to see the thought process behind these kinds of acts because a normal human being can’t be thinking this way”.

“We told you so. The negative reset is on. Let them enjoy why they wished for.

They are making the President make mobo, no wonder he is calling for an emergency cabinet meeting tomorrow.

The honeymoon is over. Reality has set it. Incompetence unveiled”, one X user claimed.

A netizen added, “And yet all security agencies and the presidency remain silent. How and when did we get here? Lock up the office like how?”

Another Ghanaian added, “That is the office at Tema community 8, where I used to renew my health insurance before NPP and Akuffo Addo introduced the self renewal process on the phone”.
