The elderly fishmonger weep bitterly

An elderly fishmonger has been left bitterly weeping after she was duped with three notes of fake GH¢200.

In the viral video on X, the elderly fishmonger was seen bitterly crying as she was holding the fake GH¢200 notes.

Reports suggest that she was duped and robbed of her entire sales, after an individual reportedly paid her with three notes of counterfeit GH¢200.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the sad news wrote, “Where the oldlady dey, make we all contribute give am, even if 1gh per person. At her age should could decide to resort to begging just like some energetic youths on this platform do, but no, she’s decided to do a small business. If she’s encountered this unfortunate event, we need to support”.

“Ghanaians, let’s show her some love. @SIKAOFFICIAL1, let’s know the whereabouts of the woman so we can donate to you for you to transfer the money to her on her behalf. We can do this”, a netizen added.

“The inhumanity of people toward their fellow human beings is heartbreaking. Instead of giving her a tip or leaving their change for her, someone chose to steal from the poor old woman. I believe her tears will not be in vain. The universe rewards”, one more X user added.

A netizen added, “People don’t even consider being wicked to people. Why is this old woman looking for her daily bread? Hmm”

Additionally, one more Ghanaian added, “Others are begging, but grandma decided not to do that, got himself a job, and you do this to her. Walai sɛ ibi her fellow woman wey go do this. A man can’t do this da..”

Meanwhile, in a related news, a fishmonger some weeks ago threatened to invoke curses on two Ghanaian men and a white man after they allegedly purchased all her fish worth GHS1,600 using fake US dollar notes.

According to the fishmonger, the three individuals visited her stall and decided to buy all the fish on her table, amounting to GHS1,600. She said they paid with dollar notes, which she initially accepted.

She added that she later travelled to Tema Community One to exchange the dollars into cedis, only to be informed that the notes were counterfeit.

Speaking in a viral video shared on X, the fishmonger lamented, saying, “One white and two Ghanaian people bought my fish on the table for 1600 cedis. After packing the smoked fish for them, they told me to take US dollars.

I told them I was not going to take them, but they insisted that the money was genuine. After taking the money, I visited Community One to change the money. I was told the money was fake.

Ghanaians, have you seen two black Ghanaians and a white man defrauding me, so if I go and curse them, is it a sin?
