Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has said the 2028 election is all play, all play, as no NDC parliamentary seat is safe.

Alexander Afenyo-Markin declared the NPP’s intent to reclaim political dominance in the 2028 general elections.

He stressed that no parliamentary seat held by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be secure.

The minority leader called on NPP members to intensify grassroots mobilisation, accusing the NDC of failing to deliver on key campaign promises.

Addressing executives of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) in Parliament on Wednesday, March 18, Alexander Afenyo-Markin stated, “If elections are held today, NPP will be the majority, but that will also require hard work and loyalty. We do not doubt our minds that you will take up the mantle”.

“We will be joining our colleagues to storm the campuses. The 2028 election is all play, all play, no NDC seat is safe. We will approach every NDC seat like a normal seat,” he said.

In related news, Afenyo-Markin has boldly stated that if elections are organised today, there is no way the National Democratic Congress (NDC) can maintain its majority seat.

Afenyo-Markin stressed that, if elections were held today, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would reclaim the majority of the seats they lost in the 2024 elections.

Speaking in a one-on-one interview on UTV, Afenyo-Markin stated, “From day one, we are 87, and they are 188 buy I am not afraid, if God is with us, didn’t David fight with Goliath and he defeated him.

I know that if elections were organised today, the NPP would reclaim the majority of the seats we lost; If we were voting today, there is no way the NDC can get a majority. I know what I am talking about”.

The minority leader further called on all NPP members to pray for the party, flagbearer and all MPs.

“I am standing on prayers; if we do not pray, we will always be defeated. The simple message I want to tell the NPP member today is oray for the party, is not about the noise and argument. If we do not pray, even if we get the most perfect person that you think to partner with the flagbearer, we will have difficulty. Let’s pray for the flagbearer and individual MPs. It is not the fall of your colleague that will lead to your success”, he added.

Meanwhile, Alamzy Billa Nikyema, the National Democratic Congress(NDC) Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga, has claimed the current New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, cannot even win an SRC election.

According to Alamzy Billa Nikyema, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and the current NPP lack the political strength needed to win public support, doubting the party’s ability to regain political power in the future.

The NDC MP stressed that NPP members still confidently speak about winning the 2028 general elections when the party is struggling to maintain credibility among Ghanaians.

Alamzy Billa Nikyema stressed that the NPP failed Ghanaians in government, which left public dissatisfaction with the party, adding that the NPP will face challenges in convincing voters at the grassroots.

Speaking on the floor of parliament, Alamzy Billa Nikyema stated, “These people failed us with audacity, they failed us with audacity, and the most bizarre part is that any time they are making contributions, they will tell us that when we win power in 2028. Mr Speaker, my question is with which party and with which candidate?

“Mr Speaker, your current party, and your current candidate, you cannot even use the party and your current candidate to win SRC elections,” Mr Nikyema said.
