Exdoe, a Ghanaian taxi driver and die-hard NDC supporter based in Madina Zongo Junction, has told his party he will speak against them after he has been completely sidelined following the NDC’s return to power.
According to the Die-hard NDC supporter, he sold his two taxis to raise money and campaign for the NDC, but after they gained power, he has been completely ignored by the party.
Speaking in a self-recorded video, the die-hard NDC supporter stated, “From today onwards, I will speak against the NDC because you people are very stingy. After all the work I did, it’s you and your families who are enjoying the national cake. I sold two taxi cabs to raise funds for the party’s campaign”.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has told disgruntled party members that President John Mahama cannot appoint everyone.
According to Asiedu Nketia, appointments under the current Mahama administration are limited; however urged party supporters who are yet to receive appointments to remain calm and exercise patience.
The NDC National Chairman further stressed that it is practically impossible to appoint all deserving members at the same time, citing the constitutional restrictions placed on the president’s appointment.
Asiedu Nketia further urged party members to avoid resorting to anger or public criticism and to use internal channels to seek redress for their grievances.
Speaking during his Thank You Tour at Winneba in the Effutu Constituency on Thursday, February 12, Asiedu Nketia, stated, “I am aware that some of you are unhappy because you did not get to be appointed to any position upon our return to power. This is understandable. It is the reason why I am embarking on this ‘Thank You Tour’, to explain issues for your understanding.
“The challenge is that, given the number of appointments that the constitution permits President Mahama to make, not all members of the NDC can be taken care of. So be patient. There is no need to be angry with the party.”
“You have elected a good president who is doing a good job. Everyone acknowledges this fact, including some members of the opposition. So, I urge you to be patient with the government. If you have any concerns that have not been addressed yet. There is time for everything. Your concerns will be addressed. All you need to do is to channel them through the right quarters, and it will be resolved,” he assured.
In addition, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has urged Ghanaians and party members to exercise patience as President John Mahama works to provide opportunities for everyone.
According to Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the anger being displayed by Ghanaian youths over the low intake of applicants in Ghana’s security services will not solve anything.
The NDC Chairman detailed that the first priority is to strengthen the economy, which will create more employment opportunities for Ghanaian youth.
Speaking to party supporters in Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region, Asiedu Nketiah stated, “The anger will not solve the problem. Without sufficient funds, how can we employ more than necessary? Fixing issues takes time. The first priority is to strengthen the economy, and President Mahama is working diligently on this.
“We are already beginning to see the benefits. We must exercise a little more patience to allow these efforts to create opportunities for everyone,” he said.
He added, “Rising impatience will not help. Let us learn to be patient. Things will improve, and this government is committed to opening up opportunities for all.”
