Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has spoken about his feud with his colleague, Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale.
According to Stonebwoy, reconciliation at this point with Shatta Wale feels like a betrayal of the spirit of his late mother.
Stonebwoy explained that the conflict between the two has escalated, where any public display of goodwill would come at a personal cost.
The information gathered suggests the feud between the two reached a boiling point in 2018, with Stonebwoy saying Shatta Wale had accused him of being responsible for the death of his late mother, Catherine Satekla, who passed away in 2015.
However, Shatta Wale has denied those allegations.
According to Stonebwoy, his late mother will kill him if she smiles with Shatta Wale.
Speaking in an interview with Angel FM, Stonebwoy explained, “The faction justifies it by saying ‘it’s just a game.’ But if we are trying to use our music to represent or market Ghana to the whole world, there are a lot of ways you can use to do the marketing, but there are certain statements you cannot use in the name of marketing,” he said.
He added, “Once you say certain things in the name of marketing or strategy or publicity, you have damaged it.”
“So, looking at where things have gotten to at this point, if I start smiling or laughing with the person, even my mother’s ghost will kill me,” he said.
However, Sammy Flex, the PRO and publicist of Shatta Wale, has told Dancehall musician Stonebwoy to provide evidence to back up his claim that Shatta Wale once accused him of killing his own mother.
According to Sammy Flex, Stonebwoy has a 48-hour ultimatum to provide concrete evidence to back up his claims.
Shatta Wale’s PRO noted that the controversy has dragged on for years without any verifiable proof surfacing, adding that even in a court of law, Stonebwoy’s reluctance to provide specifics would undermine his own allegation.
Sammy Flex, on his YouTube channel, stated, “We give you some 48 hours ultimatum to prove to the whole world, give us evidence, prima facie evidence, that this is where Shatta said this. He who alleges must prove. But there is none there,” Sammy Flex declared.
“He who alleges must prove. That is just common sense. The journalist did not accuse Shatta of doing that, you are,” he said.
“If you don’t want to go into that, then let’s stop talking about it now,” he added.
“Even from 2018 till 2026, Stonebwoy is still allowing people to put out headlines like this,” he said.
His comments stem from Stonebwoy in a viral interview with Angel FM, where he stated that forgiving Shatta Wale would be impossible.
