Nana Aba Anamoah, a renowned media personality, has vented out her displeasure following the Ghana Black Stars suffered a crushing 5-1 defeat at the hands of Austria in an international friendly on Friday.

According to Nana Aba Anamoah, the government led by the Sports Ministry is raising funds for a listless, uninspiring, poorly led and badly managed Black Stars while Ghanaians are dying in our hospitals because there’s no access to basic equipment.

In a post shared on X after the Black Stars’ thrashing defeat, Nana Aba wrote, “People are dying in our hospitals because there’s no access to basic equipment.

Yet you’re out here raising funds for a listless, uninspiring, poorly led and badly managed Black Stars”.

Nana Aba remarks follow, the Ghana Black Stars suffered a thrashing  5-1 defeat at the hands of Austria in an international friendly on Friday, with Ghanaians fans disappointed.

Some Ghanaians reacting to Nana Aba Anamoah’s remarks stated, “But why are y’all dragging @thenanaaba? She basically meant, if we are able to push an agenda to raise huge amounts of funds with this energy.. then we can channel the same energy into saving lives in our health sector, Anaa??

“Ghana has a priority problem. I believe we can do both..We are often more willing to fund visibility than reliability. More willing to chase clout than fix delivery”, a netizen added.

“So what exactly is your point? Are you saying the black stars shouldn’t go for the World Cup so the money would be used to solve all Ghana’s problems?

One X user added, “While patients die waiting for a working dialysis machine, we’re crowdsourcing millions to watch the Black Stars collect another L under the same coach. Ghana, fix your priorities and don’t behave like the Nigerian government or keep burying both dreams and people”.

Another Ghanaian added, “

One more X user added, “I’m I reading right, or people are really insulting this woman, and the reason is she wants her own people to receive better healthcare, she wants her Government to prioritise healthcare, & people are fighting her. Charley bibinii nyansa sua, these politicians have some hypnosis powers”.

In related news, Ghanaian Dancehall artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, have both contributed towards the Black Stars‘ 2026 World Cup campaign.

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, the two musicians, were present at the launch of the campaign at the Kempinski Hotel on Friday night.

Shatta Wale’s $100,000 pledge, with Stonebwoy also pledging $101,000, which included $81,000 in cash and $20,000 worth of music services.

Individuals and corporate bodies also pledged significant amounts to support Ghana’s preparation for the global tournament.

Ibrahim Mahama’s mining firm, Engineers & Planners, which committed $5 million, was the headline sponsorship.

Also, Goldfields pledged $2 million, with an additional $1 million for next year among others.
