Under-fire Ghana Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has said he is unfazed by calls for his dismissal following his side’s thrashing defeat at the hands of Austria.

According to Otto Addo, he does not read social media comments about him even when he wins a game.

Otto Addo stressed that his job has always been on the line, even after he qualified for the World Cup, so he does not really care about calls for his dismissal.

Speaking to the media ahead of Monday’s encounter with Germany in Stuttgart, Otto Addo stated, “This is the job of a coach. When we lose, people are mainly trying to bring you down. I don’t really read too many things”

“Even if we win, I’m not too much into social media or reading anything. Whatever people say, it’s normal, especially on an evening like this when the team didn’t play well and we also lost,” he added.

Also, Otto Addo has expressed confidence that his team will bounce back to deliver a stronger performance when they face Germany.

He added, “We’ve had a lot of things to analyse after the last game, which was a big, big woe for us,” he told the media ahead of Monday’s encounter.

“We had a lot of things to talk through, analyse through and even though we face a stronger opponent, I am optimistic that we can handle the situation.”

“We are ready; this is our last training, and we will try to prepare the last things and look forward for tomorrow,” he added.

Additionally, Otto Addo also used a culinary analogy to explain his style of football; he adapts to what will hurt his opponent and cannot say his Black Stars team is possession-based.

Speaking to the media ahead of Monday’s encounter with Germany in Stuttgart, Otto Addo stated, “This is my style, I always look at who is coming, it is always different for me. I compare it to eating; if I eat fufu, I use my hand. When I drink soup, I will use a spoon; if I want rice and meat, I use a fork and a knife; it’s just the same as the players.

I look at the opponent and what can harm them the most. It is a flexible style, I can say we are possession-based”.

Meanwhile, Ralf Rangnick, head coach of Austria, has told Ghanaians not to be too emotional following the Black Stars’ humiliating 5-1 defeat to his side.

According to Ralf Rangnick, Ghanaians should not be too emotional about Otto Addo, as he does not think that with a different coach, the result would have been any different.

Speaking at a post-match interview following his Austrian side’s thrashing of the Black Stars, Ralf Rangnick stated, “Ghana qualified for the World Cup with Otto Addo as manager. So the most important thing is that they qualified.

At least we don’t overrate this game and this result. I remember that we played Turkey two years ago before the Euros. We beat them 6-1 here, but then we played against Turkey again in the round of 16 at the Euros, and we lost 2-1, unfortunately. But luckily for Turkey”.

“So, I wouldn’t rate that too much. Let’s wait and see how they play against Germany on Tuesday, and then it might be a completely different story again. Don’t be so emotional about your coach. Otto is a good one, and I don’t think that with another manager it would have been a different result,” Rangnick added.

Ghana is set to face the European giants Germany in Stuttgart on Monday at 18:45 GMT, with pressure mounting on Otto Addo.
