The headmaster of Mante D/A Basic School, a public institution at Akim Mante in the Asene Manso Akroso District of the Eastern Region, which was recently refurbished by American YouTuber and content creator MrBeast, has cried out over his treatment by the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The headmaster, identified as Asare Richard, alleged that the GES reduced his rank immediately MrBeast launched the school project, a project he stressed he was actively involved in and at the forefront.

According to him, shortly after the project began, he was demoted from Assistant Director II to Principal Superintendent without any clear explanation, resulting in a salary reduction.

Asare Richard added that all attempts to seek clarification from officials at the Ghana Education Service have proved futile, as his requests have been met with no response.

Speaking in a viral video, the headmaster said, “Immediately this project started, GES gave me a notification that my rank had been reduced and also reduced my salary without any valid reason. I don’t know the reason they did that because I have not made any connection or anything.

“My rank was Assistant Director II, and I was brought down to Principal Superintendent. Since September, all letters that I am supposed to write, I’ve done my part, but still…” the headmaster alleged.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the development stated, “The headmaster erred. He’s even lucky he’s still a headmaster. Did he seek for the approval of GES before commencement of the project? We should respect institutional leadership. The school is a sole property of the GES. This is not a private school”.

A netizen added, “You see the kind of leaders we have?  They will not do their work, but when an individual tries to do what they are supposed to do then they try to sabotage the person or try all means to frustrate that person. F*ckin country”.

One X user added, “This Ghana ankasa eeehhh, the level of hypocrisy is just too much, someone standing in for the refurbishment of a nation-owned asset, and you just reduced his rank salary without any reason, for what????

Hypocrites, God will punish them paaaa”.

Another X user added, “Your intentions may be good, but there’s a channel you have to follow. If indeed he got the approval from the GES director in his district or municipality, then we all can fight GES for his rank to be restored. Africans, we take things for granted too much”.
