The news shared by GHOne TV stated, “A relationship manager at a private bank, Christopher Arthur, has been charged with allegedly stealing about ₵12 million from a client’s accounts. He is accused of forging statements, diverting funds through multiple accounts, and spending part on sports betting. Authorities say he has made partial refunds, with some assets already recovered…”.

Some Ghanaians reacting to the news shared on social media stated, “All these banks and big institutions in this country keep using the youths and not giving them Good salaries, so when they see a loophole, they take the chance.

“Hmm, robbing Peter to pay Paul.

This thing, you might think he took this huge money one day for betting, but trust me, he started it small, small, and all the managers do”, a netizen stated.

A netizen claimed. “One thing you boys for Barb bi say….

Aviator isn’t a game. It’s someone’s business. And like all businesses, the end goal is profit. And obviously, the only way the entity makes a profit is when you lose.

However, to make it seem fair, they give you a “chance” of winning

Think!”.

One X user added, “GUARANTY. TRUST. Is it literally the name of the bank? 😄

So who should we TRUST again?

Are there still any guarantees in life?”

Another netizen quizzed, “Not condoning what he did, but how do you steal ₵12 million and then go on to bet ₵600,000? What exactly was the end goal? The maximum payout is a slip is around ₵1–1.5 million, and just a day’s payout is ₵ 3 million”.

“Until I see his betting history, there is no way I will believe someone will steal ₵12 million and blow ₵600,000 on online bets, but if it is true, I wouldn’t be surprised that money sometimes falls into the hands of senseless and visionless people”, a netizen added.

“Lol…Blowing 600k on soccer gambling is quite an understatement. We all know AVIATOR is the type that can make you blow money fast. It’s cancerous and has been more disastrous to users. I won’t say the youth, cos I’ve seen the aged neglect their family duties for AVIATOR chances”, an X user added.

Another Ghanaian wrote, “A person is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Until then, we’ll keep following the story and the judge’s verdict on the matter, but enuanom mo mma yɛnka, nipa bi adweni ne omo nsɛm bi ti akoma oo. Adweni no moɔha, honam no brɛ”.

“I guess he stole the money with the intention of returning it to the coffers if the investment had paid off. But he chose the wrong investment scheme: betting 😕. It sounds sweet and offers quick returns on your money, but a team like United or Barcelona will cause your downfall”, one last X user added.
