Young Ghanaian soldier dies in a tragic motorcycle accident

A young Ghanaian soldier has died in a tragic motorcycle accident in Wa.

The Ghanaian soldiers have been identified as Abdul-Rahman Suhuyini, who was stationed at the 10th Mechanised Battalion in Wa.

Reports suggest the tragic incident happened on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

In a post shared by SIKAOFFICIAL on X, he wrote, “ A young Ghanaian soldier stationed with the 10th Mechanised Battalion in Wa, Abdul-Rahman Suhuyini, has reportedly died in a tragic motorcycle accident on Saturday, 25th April 2026.

He is described by many as an ardent football lover who played with some local youth teams before his recruitment into the Ghana Army”.

Reports suggest Abdul-Rahman Suhuyini was a former student of Yendi Senior High School.

Yakubu Daney Iddrisu Mion, a former classmate, in a tribute shared on Facebook wrote, “He was my classmate back at Yendi Senior High School in Arts ‘A’ class around 2013. We later all joined the security services in service to God and the Motherland, Ghana. His passing is deeply saddening.”

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians reacting to the news stated, “What a tragedy? Soo young and hopefully with a lot of dreams and aspirations for himself and his community.

May his soul rest in perfect peace”.

One netizen added, “For me, if anyone dash me motorcycle, I will sell i don’t i don’t like motorcycle”.

In related news, two police officers have reportedly died following a road accident on the Ofoase–Ayirebi road.

The deceased officers have been identified as G/LCpl. Anti Isaac and G/Const. Thomas Allonyor were said to be riding a motorbike when it collided with a packed tricycle.

Reports suggest the officers were off duty at the time of the collision, which reportedly resulted in their deaths.

According to reports, Lance Corporal Anti died instantly at the scene; however, Constable Thomas, who sustained serious injuries and was bleeding heavily, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the Brenase Health Centre for medical attention.

The information gathered suggests the owner of the tricycle fled the scene after realising that the victims were police officers.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
