Dr Stephen Amoah, commonly known as Sticka, the Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso and a member of Kennedy Agyapong’s campaign team, has warned that ‘The BASE’ party could bring down the NPP.
Sticka advised that the elections are over, so disgruntled NPP members should come together and sacrifice for the NPP instead of breaking away to form a new party.
He further detailed what the former MP told him regarding leading “ The Base party”.
According to Dr Stephen Amoah, Ken Agyapong told him he is not interested in the Base Movement.
Sticka also cautioned that breaking away from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would be a wrong move.
Speaking in an interview on Angel FM, Dr Stephen Amoah stated, “The BASE could bring down the NPP. I will advise everyone that we are done with the elections, so we should come together and sacrifice for the NPP. So, the Base and all those things, we should stop and work together as NPP people, because for me, there is nothing that I would not sacrifice for the NPP”.
“I have personally asked Kennedy Agyapong about ‘The Base’, and he has said he is not interested. As for me, nothing will make me leave the NPP, ” he added.
Also, Lawyer Godlove Adjei Tenkorang has advised veteran Ghanaian Actor, Agya Koo and supporters of The Base party, the former Assin Central Member of Parliament, will never join their party.
According to the lawyer, Agya Koo, and supporters of The Base party, they must stop the jokes and consider doing something more.
He highlighted that the idea of a third political force in Ghana is unrealistic within the current political landscape of Ghana.
He further asserted that one cannot use just a few years to make the NPP and NDC irrelevant.
Speaking on Angel FM, Kumasi, Lawyer Godlove Adjei Tenkorang explained, “If they are planning on having any third force in Ghana, I am sorry to tell them, there cannot be any third force in Ghana, especially not in the life of this generation”.
“It may be possible in another generation, but not now,” he clearly stated.
“Other jurisdictions like the US, South Africa, UK, and Nigeria operate largely on two dominant parties, and they have helped shape their countries over time; the same applies to Ghana, ” he added.
He added, “You cannot use just a few years to make the NPP and NDC irrelevant; it is a total joke. Their objectives are not even clear; I can even say they do not have objectives”.
“The youth do not need swimming pools to bathe in, but rather better policies to improve their lives”.
He further boldly declared that the former Assin Central MP, Ken Agyapong, will not leave the NPP to join ‘The Base’ party as they are unorganised.
“I am very sure Kennedy Agyapong will never join them, considering how unorganised they are”, he added.
Meanwhile, Agya Koo, one of the lead promoters of The Base party, has dismissed reports linking it to businessman and defeated NPP presidential aspirant Ken Agyapong.
Agya Koo explained that Ken Agyapong’s membership in ‘The Base’ party remains unconfirmed.
He highlighted that Ken Agyapong is not even aware of most of the things being done within the BASE party.
