The young man who went viral for threatening to kill any police officer or soldier sent to arrest him has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service.
The Police detail that the suspect, identified as Opoku Emmanuel, was arrested on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Jacobu in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region
In a viral photo shared on X, the young man was seen in handcuffs following his arrest by the Ghana Police Service.
However, the young man, before the arrest, had earlier apologised.
According to the young man, he was only creating content when he made those pronouncements.
Speaking in another viral video, the young man stated, “Ghanaian leaders, I am pleading with you, I posted a video on TikTok, I was only making content, I should not have said those things. I threatened the Police and soldiers. I have seen some people have posted my pictures in a wanted group.
I am not a thief, I am not a bad person, I am a hustler. The things I said, I did not speak properly. Please forgive me, Ghana Police and Soldiers”.
It will be recalled that the young Ghanaian man had earlier threatened personnel of the Ghana Police Service and of the Ghana Armed Forces in a viral video.
Speaking in a viral video, the young man stated, “If you are a police officer or a soldier and you are sent to arrest armed robbers, and you meet me without holding any gun, just know that I will kill you. I swear to God, the powers I’m holding you don’t have some”.
In other news, Solomon Brako Kusi, the Birim Central Municipal Chief Executive, has confirmed the arrest of the three young men wielding machetes in a viral video.
According to the MCE, one individual has been arrested in connection with the violent clash involving three machete-wielding illegal miners at Akim Oda.
He also disclosed that the two other individuals, who sustained varying degrees of injuries during the incident, are currently receiving treatment in the hospital under heavy police guard.
He further expressed his appreciation to the Akyem Oda Divisional Police Command for their swift and timely response following reports of the incident.
A Police press release issued on May 6, 2026, by DSP David Fianko-Okyere stated, “Suspect George Okyere, age 30, with a deep cut on his forehead and his right finger chopped off was met at the emergency ward of the Oda Jubilee Hospital, while suspect Paul Pascalele was met at the Akyem Oda Government Hospital emergency ward with a deep cut on the right hand receiving treatment.
“Meanwhile, suspect Evans Adayele was arrested in his hideout to assist in the investigation. Efforts are underway to arrest other suspects for further investigations and prosecution,” part of the police statement said.
