Dr John Abdulai Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Yapei Kusawgu and Minister for Energy, has told disgruntled supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to exercise patience with the government.
The Yapei Kusawgu MP acknowledged growing expectations for jobs and economic support but urged supporters not to resort to violence.
Speaking to NDC party faithful during the NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah’s thank-you tour in the Savannah Region, Dr John Abdulai Jinapor stated, “I will plead with you to be patient with the government. We are barely two years in office. We know you need jobs, we know you need businesses”.
John Jinapor highlighted that the Mahama government has already begun implementing interventions to support farmers and improve livelihoods.
He stated, “This year, I have funded the purchase of 2,000 bags of fertiliser and 2,000 bags of weedicides to help farmers. So please exercise patience for the party”.
“If we are sharing while in office, it is just a matter of time, everybody will get some, but when we use violence, and it lands the party in opposition, it will be our loss,” he added.
Also, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reminded party members to unite behind President John Mahama government to ensure its success and to protect the image of the party.
According to Asiedu Nketia, President Mahama’s fortunes are tied to the NDC’s future success in the next election, reminding party members that if Mahama fails, the embarrassment will be on all of them.
He stressed that the failure of the Mahama administration would not be blamed on Mahama alone but on the entire party.
Asiedu Nketia urged party faithful to remain committed to the ideals of the party and contribute positively toward the government’s agenda.
Speaking during his “Thank You Tour” in the East Gonja Constituency on Thursday, May 14, the NDC Chairman
“Our party members who supported the party to power, we have three years to the end of the tenure of the Mahama government. We need to support the government to succeed,” he said.
“If Mahama fails, the embarrassment will be on all of us; Mahama will not only take the fall, but all of us. We need to support the government’s agenda with all our strength for it to succeed for the betterment of the people,” he added.
In related news, A Global Info Analytics poll has disclosed that 78 per cent of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates are concerned about the lack of job opportunities for grassroots.
The Global Info Analytics poll was conducted between 31st March and 9th April among nearly 10,400 delegates across all 16 regions.
The Poll detailed that 78% of delegates were concerned about the lack of job opportunities, with 13% are not concerned, and 9% are neither concerned nor unconcerned.
Also, 88% of the delegates are hopeful that the situation will improve in the near future.
