Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a lawyer and activist, has alleged that the former concubine of Brigadier-General Amara Camara, Minister of State and Secretary-General of the Presidency of Guinea, has been arrested in Ghana.
According to Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the former Guinea presidential official’s concubine was arrested based on a Guinea-issued Interpol Red Notice.
He disclosed that Bangoura, a Belgian citizen, was arrested at approximately 5:00 a.m. on August 4, 2026, on her arrival in Ghana from Paris.
Barker-Vormawor revealed that Bangoura was previously in a relationship with Brigadier-General Amara Camara, with whom she reportedly has two children.
He further claimed that following a bitter breakup, Bangoura threatened to disclose information known to her about the senior Guinean official and subsequently fled Guinea with her siblings, fearing for her safety.
Barker-Vormawor also detailed that Guinean authorities later placed Bangoura on an Interpol Red Notice in an effort to compel her return to Guinea.
According to Barker-Vormawor, his law firm Merton & Everett LLP has been retained to represent Bangoura in the matter.
In a social media post, Barker-Vormawor wrote, “Ghana has this morning arrested, based on an Interpol request, the former concubine of Brigadier-General Amara Camara, Minister of State, and Secretary-General of the Presidency of Guinea.
General Camara has two children with Ms Bangoura (Belgian citizen). After a bitter breakup, Ms Bangoura threatened to expose secrets known to her. She has to then flee Guinea for her life with her siblings after she fell out with the General.
Unknown to her, she was placed on the Interpol Red Notice by Guinea in order to force her back to Guinea.
Ms Bangoura the lady was arrested while travelling to Ghana from Paris this morning around 5 am. She has informed Ghanaian authorities that her life is at stake and she intends to apply for political asylum in Ghana.

In other news, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has once again fumed at Ghana’s judicial system.
The private legal practitioner argued that Ghana’s judiciary acts as a weapon fashioned against the poor.
He cited the continued detention of social media blogger Webkid, who was arrested on May 7, 2026, over allegations of the publication of false news.
According to Oliver Barker-Vormawor, bail in Ghana has become a weapon, noting that a civilised country treats bail as the rule and remand as the exception.
The private legal practitioner also highlighted that not a single politician accused of gargantuan corruption was denied bail.
