Speaking in an interview, Akosua Manu stated, “The 24-hour economy, they told us, will create jobs. Did you see what happened last week, where young people queued from 12 midnight just for GHS 15 chicken? That is a blot on the conscience of this government; it means the government’s claim of creating one million jobs is not true”.

Some Ghanaians reacting to her comments stated, “Her only achievement is being married to Peter Mac Manu’s son. If not for that, who is this lady to even have any locus in politics in Ghana? She’s just so empty…!!!”.

One X user added, “I don’t blame her, I blame Adenta people giving her the power to insult you people; the thing is promotion what do you expect”.

“I am a full NPP member, but my question is what did she do personally to help some of the young people of this country that 8 years when NPP were in power”, a netizen added.

“May God grant me the wisdom to speak so I don’t say what is on my mind.

Some of you speak like we have all not been in this country and how YOU people managed the affairs of this country.

Keep going”, an X user added.

“I blame these bloggers none of them can ask any sensible question, like how can you interview a member of a party that stole state money for her to get the guts to accuse someone of embezzling funds”, an X user added.

Meanwhile, Kosi Dedey, a policy analyst and engineer, has said the massive queues generated by a recent GH¢15 KFC promotion expose the economic conditions facing ordinary Ghanaians.

According to the Policy Analyst, the willingness of customers to spend long hours in line for a discounted meal must prompt deeper conversation about household income and living standards.

He argued that the KFC situation challenges claims of Ghana’s economic recovery.

Speaking on Channel One TV on Wednesday, August 19, Kosi Dedey stated, “The quality of life of people has largely declined, and this is reflected in what we saw during the KFC promotion.

“If people for 15 cedi can spend hours in a queue, it tells you something. Something is not right. So, these are clear indicators that, look, we are not really delivering on the promise we make to the people,” he said.

In related news, Presidential Staffer Bridget Otoo has called out KFC Ghana following its just-ended GH¢15 promotion.

KFC Ghana on August 15, 2026, delivered on their highly anticipated GH¢15 promotion to commemorate its 15th anniversary.

The promotion attracted large crowds to its branches across Accra.

Viral videos captured large crowds; a series of tensions escalating at some branches, with staff reportedly spraying water on sections of the crowd in an attempt to disperse them.

In another video, a Police man was captured whipping KFC Ghana customers at the Ashaiman branch.

Bridget Otoo, reacting to the videos, expressed her disappointment with KFC Ghana.

She argued that KFC should have anticipated the large turnout that such a promotion would attract.

According to Bridget Otoo, KFC staff spraying water on customers who had queued to purchase food was disrespectful and unacceptable.

In a post on X, Bridget Otoo wrote, “ Why would you run a promo for food @ 15 cedis and be surprised at the huge numbers that showed up!  To make matters worse, you resort to spraying water to disperse them; that’s outright disrespectful !!! @KFC_Ghana your customers deserve better!!!”.
