Isaac Bampoe Addo, the Executive Secretary of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), is dead.
Reports suggest the late Isaac Bampoe Addo died on Friday, August 21, 2026, after a brief illness.
Bampoe Addo, as CLOGSAG Executive Secretary played a key role in the association’s national negotiations, industrial actions and engagement with government and other stakeholders on matters affecting public sector workers.
He was actively involved in shaping CLOGSAG’s institutional policies and representing the interests of its members on labour and public sector issues.
Bampoe Addo’s death will be felt across Ghana’s organised labour and public sector community, given his role in key negotiations and engagements involving public sector workers.
Following news of his death an outpouring of tributes, with those who worked closely with him remembering him for his leadership, mentorship and strong personal relationships.
In a tribute issued following his passing, Bampoe Addo was described as a man of integrity and resilience.
“Mr Bampo Addo, fondly known as Marico, was a pillar of strength and integrity. As Head of CLOSSAG, he led with vision, diligence, and compassion. His commitment to excellence, unwavering loyalty, and ability to inspire those around him have left an indelible mark on us all. A mentor, a leader, a brother and a friend — he will be deeply missed but forever remembered,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, further details regarding his funeral and burial arrangements are expected to be announced in due course.
