A viral video has surfaced of a security man at Mim Senior High School in the Ahafo Region, known as Obonto, caught after he allegedly blackmailed a female student into having an affair with him.
It has been alleged that the security man threatened to report her for sneaking off campus unless she agreed to his demands.
According to the information gathered, the student reportedly alerted male friends, who rushed to the guard’s room and allegedly caught him with her.
In the viral video, the security man was captured shirtless in a modest room with the female student in a purple dress.
After the bust, the security man was captured walking out of the room with the female student pleading with her male colleagues on her knees.
The security man was later spotted outside with students loudly cheering after he was captured.
The video shared by EDHUB was captioned, “A security guard at Mim Senior High School, known as “Obonto,” has reportedly been caught after allegedly pressuring a female student into having an affair with him.
According to reports, the guard allegedly threatened to expose the student for leaving campus without permission if she refused his advances.
He was intercepted by some students before he could make any advances and was allegedly subjected to a slight beating”.
In related news, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted two watchmen of the Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School (BOGISS) after a disturbing incident of alleged sexual assault involving a special needs student.
In a statement issued, the Ghana Education Service revealed the interdiction of the two watchmen accused in connection with the alleged assault.
According to the GES, the two suspects have been handed over to the Police to assist with investigations.
The GES said the student was on medication and suffered a relapse on the day of the alleged incident, requiring medical attention, with the alleged sexual assault occurring during that period.
The GES further assured the public that the matter is being treated with the seriousness it deserves.
Also, the Ministry of Education has ordered the immediate reinstatement of the boarding status of a 14-year-old student.
They further directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to investigate the incident and ensure that the student receives the necessary medical attention and counselling.
The Education Ministry also condemned the alleged abuse and stressed that schools have a responsibility to protect and nurture students, particularly vulnerable children.
“The Honourable Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has directed the Ghana Education Service (GES) to:
1. Investigate the matter and report immediately.
2. Ensure that the victim receives all the necessary medical attention and counselling for her quick recovery.
3. Immediately reinstate the boarding status of the victim.
We want to assure the student’s family and the general public that the Ministry will ensure justice is served in this matter”.
