Krobohene Nana Asa Akonpanin has declared that members of his community will now worship God after their gods “Ani Koko Bosom” were reportedly stolen.
According to the Krobohene, in consultation with the elders, they have decided to turn the entire land to Christ.
He argued that if the gods couldn’t protect themselves from being stolen, then they don’t deserve to be worshipped.
The Krobohene argued that the disappearance of the deity left the community with no option but to turn to God and seek divine protection through prayer.
The Krobohene further praised members of his community for accepting Christianity, adding that the community had experienced positive changes since turning to God.
Speaking to his subordinates, the Krobohene stated, “The gods that were protecting this town have been missing. Someone has stolen the gods, so how can the gods protect the town? As a result, I consulted my elders and told them that the whole town should now worship God instead of the gods”.
“That is why we held prayers at the park and dedicated the town to God. Since that day, things have changed. We prayed for forgiveness and cleansing of the land, so I want to thank you all for agreeing to this initiative,” he said.
Some netizens reacting to the development stated, “This is how culture dies. First they say the gods are stolen, then the whole town must become Christian. It’s ignorance to think you have to destroy your own traditions to serve God. You can be Christian and still be culturally rooted”.
One X user added, “This is the reason why our forefathers gave up their gods & turned to Christ; you, this generation of unbelievers, think you are wiser than them smh”.
A netizen added, “Not all elderly people get sense. He can’t differentiate between idols, altar and the spirits themselves 🤣🤣. Even churches are protected. So-called Jesus couldn’t protect himself, so they have to lie to us that he rose from his shameful death mcheeew”.
“Let me ask this one question. So what happens to the black stool in the family house? Would they partake in the fortunes the stolen supposed god gave them? Ohene, what was stolen was just an altar; the deity still exists. Christ has no land in Ghana. The effects will be televised”, an X user added.
One last X user added, “The chief has tested and weighed between the two and has noticed that he and his people will serve God through Jesus Christ; why are you here insulting him?, What sort of stupidity is this”.
“These Southerners will regret one day for having very low self-esteem. You guys have a history of selling out your dignity for peasants to the Caucasians and their beliefs. Later you will come and envy the other Kingdoms for being proud of their roots.
Mmoa!”, an X user stated.
A netizen claimed, “Almost the same scenario happened in a nearby town during school days; they also pulled off the roofings. They woke up to find out juju has been stolen & they start harassing motorists & passerby, your gods that couldn’t protect itself? SMS”.
