Prof Patrick Loch Otieno (PLO) Lumumba, a Renowned pan-Africanist, has warned President John Dramani Mahama not to be wary of Emmanuel Macron, Tony Blair and Bill Gates.
According to Prof Lumumba, five African leaders, including the president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, are on the right path in championing the course of Africa but must be wary of certain Western leaders.
Prof Lumumba argued that African leaders must be wary of their association with certain Western leaders.
He argued that Emmanuel Macron, Tony Blair and Bill Gates have their hands in very important sectors of the African continent, including education, health and agriculture.
Prof Lumumba stressed that these individuals seem to be helping in these sectors by investing a lot of money, but this is not the case.
Speaking in an interview with excerpts shared on X, Prof Lumumba stated, “I believe that President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana is moving in the right direction. Like him or hate him, Paul Kagame still believes in an African project, and then Boko in Botswana believes in an African project. In the Sahel, Traoré has his problems, but he believes in an African project.
“Those are the ones that I can count, but they must be wary of two individuals. There is no defamation here because we can defend them. They must be wary of Emmanuel Macron. They must be wary of another person called Tony Blair… because he has an advisory thing; even here in Nairobi, he has a thing. He’s advising all manner of African presidents,” he said.
He added, “Then they must be wary of another individual called Bill Gates. These individuals, the three of them, because they are everywhere they are in health, they are in education, they are in agriculture and they come with money, lots of money. Lots of money, but it’s not lots of money. It appears to be lots of money.
Prof Lumumba further highlighted that African countries themselves must be in charge of these sectors as the continent has enough resources to do that.
He revealed that African billionaires like Aliko Dangote and institutions like the African Exim Bank can be marshalled to raise the needed capital for these important sectors.
“We have more money internally that we can generate if we marshal African billionaires.
Dangote is beginning to show the way in the oil sector. We can look at a few of them on the continent and put them together to use our institutions, the African Exim Bank, which is now in about twenty countries, complete with a payment system. African Development Bank, if we inject some of these firms, East African Development Bank”, he added.
Some Africans reacting to his comments stated, “African billionaires must come together to build a trans African railway line, connecting major landlocked cities and towns. Some must invest in cargo shipping within coastal cities. This will boost movement and access to indigenous goods within African countries”.
“The way I like listening to this man…. His intelligence in historical fiction is eccentric”, a netizen added.
One X user added, “One thing the NPP doesn’t understand is that we the citizens act as if we don’t see and we don’t recall, but trust me if you do well in government, the thumb will justify the means on every Election Day. If they keep being irresponsible, they’ll be replaced by the United Party”.
“Very true to all he has said. So now citizens and nations must protect their leaders by siding with them. Because these evil people will use their own people to overthrow or destroy their progress”, a netizen added.
An X user added, “I’m truly proud, but please, our leaders, take note of the things he pointed out in the video”.
