Eugene Boakye Antwi, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary aspirant, has said any party member supporting the candidature of incumbent General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong does not want the party back in power.
The former Subin MP criticised the performance of Justin Kodua Frimpong, arguing that the party members who support his continued leadership do not genuinely want the NPP to return to power.
According to Eugene Boakye Antwi, Justin Kodua’s performance contributed to the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 general elections, despite the party being in government and having significant resources.
Speaking on Onua TV, Eugene Boakye Antwi stated, “Any NPP member who supports the current General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, does not want the party to return to power because he has performed poorly as General Secretary”.
“You are in power with all resources and intelligence and still lost 50 seats and went into opposition,” he stated.
In related news, the Chief of Agric Nzema in the Ashanti Region, Nana Nkansah Buadu Ayeboafo, has slammed the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua.
The development follows the cancellation of constituency executive elections in three Ashanti Region constituencies.
The chief, who is also the Chairman of the council of elders for Afigya Sekyere East Constituency and a member of the council of elders, has claimed Justin Kodua influenced the cancellation because of his personal interests in the affected constituencies.
According to the chief, no one would be allowed to conduct fresh constituency executive elections in Afigya Sekyere East.
Speaking in an interview on Okay FM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, Nana Nkansah Buadu stated, “When Dan Botwe was there, he was really working. John Boadu also defended the party, but this Kodua is only concerned about what will go into his stomach.
“If something like this has happened and the Steering Committee has discussed the issue, why didn’t they refer it to the National Executive Committee (NEC)? It is pure hatred and greed and this is something they planned to do”.
He added, “Kodua, I dare him. If he doesn’t take care, the things I will say about him will make him regret it. He came looking for money and not to work for the party. It seems he is afraid of Okatakyie Afrifa, so whenever issues concerning him arise, he defends him.
If they dare me this morning, they will see what I will do to them,” he said.
