Lawyer Enoch Afoakwa, legal representative of nurse Salomay Bafoh Awiti, has alleged that the Ghana Police Service is prosecuting Ghana Jollof in two Courts under different identities.
Speaking on JOYNews Newsfile, Lawyer Enoch Anhwere Afoakwah stated, “Who is Ghana Jollof? I have a charge sheet with me here, cases I handled. This case was filed May 10. 2025 with three accused persons on this charge sheet, and the second accused person is Alberta Ocra alias Ghana Jollof at large.
And you have this second charge sheet in respect of Madam Salomay Awotey Baffoh and another Ghana Jollof, now Barbara Asantewaa Kodua alias Ghana Jollof at large. The embarrassment that the Ghana Police Service is telling the whole world is that we don’t have any intelligence institution to be able to run an investigation to identify…
He further added, “I am not disturbed at all seeing on social media a certain Barbara Asantewaa Kodua who is alleged to have passed away sometime in 2023. This is a national embarrassment if this is true. The Police CID could charge a certain Ghana Jollof as Alberta Ocra, and again charge a certain Barbara Asantewaa Kodua is an embarrassment to law enforcement”.
Meanwhile, Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, the woman popularly known as ‘Ghana Jollof’ who has been accused of offensive and inciting comments as well as publishing false news likely to cause fear and alarm, has broken her silence after the Ghana Police Service declared her wanted.
According to the Police, Barbara Asantewaa Kodua is wanted in connection with an alleged case of inciting violence.
In the wanted-person notice issued by the Police, Ms Kodua is described as a woman of fair complexion who was last seen at the Accra International Airport on August 4, 2022.
According to the Police, Ghana Jollof may currently be hiding in the United Kingdom.
The Police is appealing to members of the public who may have information on her whereabouts to assist with her identification and arrest.
The Police disclosed that anyone with information on Barbara Asantewaa Kodua’s whereabouts is encouraged to report to the nearest police station or contact the Police on 0500100010.
The police disclosed that they have been monitoring a TikTok account under the name “Ghana Jollof”, which the accused person used to issue offensive and inciting comments as well as publish false news likely to cause fear and alarm.
Reacting to the Police wanted police notice for Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, the woman popularly known as ‘Ghana Jollof’ claimed that there is no way the UK government would extradite her to Ghana.
Ghana Jollof claimed that she is currently very sick and no court would allow her to be sent back to Ghana.
In a video shared on X, Ghana Jollof was heard saying, “They said I said I want to lead a coup, or I said I would kill the President. If they want me to be extradited, it would not happen just because they show the court a video.
“They would examine the person to see if s/he can do what she is saying. I’m bedridden; my knees don’t work. Are they going to carry me with a stretcher to the court?”.
She added, “My knees are not working, and because of this I’m not able to go to work. It is the government which has been taking care of me. Even when I am going for a review, they send an ambulance and bring me down using a lift… They would not just extradite me; they would examine whether I can do the things I’m accused of.”
