President John Dramani Mahama, in a resurfaced old video, said media personality Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, was not a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to Mahama, Captain Smart had on several occasions insulted him but later acknowledged his efforts when things began to deteriorate under the Akufo-Addo administration.
Speaking in the resurfaced video, President Mahama stated, “Captain Smart has insulted me so many times, but because today things are not going well, he has given me my stone. He is not a member of the NDC.
Because things are not going well, it has also affected him. He is somebody I can call because he is a journalist to tone down the insults.
He further added, “Kevin Taylor was an NPP member; he even showed his party card on his programme, but he is now firing the NPP, and he has added some pastors. I do not know him, and I have not spoken to him before.
Avraham Ben Moshe: I don’t know him; he is not a member of the NDC; he has his own mind”.
The resurfaced comments come amid Captain Smart’s current bid to contest the Gomoa West parliamentary seat on the NDC ticket.
The Gomoa West NDC Constituency Executive Committee had earlier said its records did not recognise him as a registered member, although Captain Smart has disputed that position.
In related news, Prophet Kwabena Okumdom, a renowned Ghanaian seer, has told Captain Smart that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will show him a showdown.
According to the Prophet, Captain Smart should reconsider spending heavily on his campaign, urging him to save his money instead because he is going to lose the election.
The Prophet claimed it is not yet time for Captain Smart to enter Parliament.
He detailed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC), under whose ticket Captain Smart intends to contest, will give him a “showdown” during the party’s internal contest.
According to him, the fallout from the contest would eventually lead Captain Smart to contest the parliamentary election as an independent candidate, which will result in him splitting the NDC’s votes and ultimately hand the parliamentary seat to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking on Asempa FM, Prophet Okumdom stated, “This is not the time for Captain Smart to become a Member of Parliament. He will lose the election, so instead of spending money on the campaign, he should save it because, at all costs, he will lose the election. In the realm of the spirit, I see the NDC giving him a showdown. After that, he will contest as an independent candidate, which will split the NDC votes and ultimately hand the seat to the NPP”.
