The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced the party will open nominations for its 2026 Regional Executive Elections on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, beginning the party’s internal electoral process for selecting regional executives.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 29, the party announced the decision, calling on members who intend to contest the various positions.
The NDC statement stated, “This marks an important stage in the Party’s electoral process, and all members who intend to contest for the various Regional Executive positions are encouraged to take full advantage of the process within the prescribed period”.
According to the NDC statement, payments for the picking of nomination forms and filing fees must be made through its online portal, forms.ghanandc.com, using Mobile Money, Visa or MasterCard.
“Bank payments and bank drafts will not be accepted,” the party said.
They further highlighted that aspirants, proposers, seconders and endorsers must be members in good standing and have fully settled their membership dues.
“The Party urges all aspirants and members to conduct themselves with discipline, decorum and respect for the Party’s democratic values throughout the electoral process,” the statement said.
In related news, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has directed party members to cease premature parliamentary campaign activities ahead of the official opening of nominations.
According to the NDC, members who flout the directive could face disciplinary action and severe sanctions.
The party cautions against meetings, tours, donations, public appearances and other activities perceived as promoting parliamentary ambitions, warning of disciplinary action for breaches.
The NDC said it will announce the opening of nominations and the applicable guidelines at the appropriate time, adding that it would formally communicate the details when the process is due to begin.
The party further urged members to respect its established procedures and maintain discipline until the formal nomination process begins.
The directive was contained in a statement issued on Monday, September 14, and signed by the NDC’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, and read, “The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken note of activities being undertaken by some members of the Party with apparent parliamentary ambitions in various constituencies.
Following extensive deliberations, the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) is directing all members engaging in activities with parliamentary campaign undertones, whether directly or indirectly, to immediately cease such activities.
Members are accordingly cautioned against organising or participating in meetings, engagement tours, donations, public appearances or any other activities intended, or reasonably perceived, to promote or advance a parliamentary candidature ahead of the official opening of nominations.
The Party considers such premature activities inappropriate and potentially disruptive to its unity. cohesion and orderly functioning. Any member who disregards this directive shall be subject to disciplinary action and severe sanctions in accordance with the Party’s Constitution, rules and regulations.
All Regional, Constituency, Branch and other Party officers are directed to ensure compliance and report any breaches to the appropriate Party authorities.
The NDC remains committed to a transparent,_ orderly and credible process for selecting its Parliamentary Candidates. The Party will, at the appropriate time, officially communicate the opening of nominations and the applicable guidelines,
