Meanwhile, speaking after the NPP’s national executive elections held on October 3, 2026, Dr Bawumia has warned the party that reclaiming political power in the 2028 general election will be a difficult task.

“Winning the 2028 election won’t be easy; we must work harder,” he said.

“Elections are over. All the camps will dissolve, and let us have one NPP camp and go and win 2028,” he said.

“Let us all understand that winning 2028 is about unity. Unity in this party will give us victory. Let us come together to work,” he said.

He further encouraged candidates who lost national executive elections not to see themselves as defeated.

Bawumia stated, “ You did not lose. The NPP won”.

“There is no time to waste. Day one, this week, by the grace of God, we should all meet and begin the process of getting to the 2028 election,” he said.

“We must work harder. And let us all start this week by meeting and putting our strategies together to capture power in 2028,” he said.
