‘Shoe shine’ posing as a soldier, amazingly scams a nurse big time

News'Shoe shine’ posing as a soldier, amazingly scams a nurse big time

A shoe shine at the Burma Camp posing as a soldier has scammed a young nurse, Esther Onsonyameye.

According to the nurse, she was deceived by a man she believed to be a soldier, only to later discover that he was actually polishing shoes at Burma Camp for a living.

Esther, in a post shared by Crime Check Ghana, revealed she has always dreamed of marrying a soldier, and so when she met Frank Anaab on social media dressed in a military uniform, she imagined her dream had come true.

She revealed their relationship blossomed, and for a year, she thought she was dating a real soldier.

The post by Crime Check Ghana on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, detailed how Esther Onsonyameye was scammed. It read, “I bought assorted provisions, mosquito net, bedsheets and others that will make him comfortable at his camp, not knowing he was a fake soldier. He deceived me.’

Esther Onsonyameye, a nurse, rather fell into the hands of a ‘shoe shiner’. She had promised herself to marry a soldier at all costs”.

The post further narrated, “Esther said she fell for Frank Anaab when she met him on social media, donning an army uniform and parading himself as a soldier. That was where their relationship began.

The young nurse said they dated for a year only to find out that her lover boy was a fake soldier. During the period of the relationship, though she usually spent the night with Frank, he always told her he would go to work later in the evening, which gave her cause to believe him.

However, according to Esther, because she loved to show off her boyfriend, she posted Frank on social media only to be contacted by about four ladies who also claimed to be girlfriends of Frank”.

It continued, “Esther said she then teamed up with the other ladies to teach Frank a lesson, which led to the shocking discovery that he was a ‘shoe shiner’ at Burma Camp but not a soldier.

The nurse said it was confirmed during an interrogation she masterminded that her infamous boyfriend could not mention his unit number and other details”.

She added that the fake soldier took money from her, claiming hw would pay back when he got paid by the military, revealing that he had duped many unsuspecting victims.

The post added, “She said Frank took money from her, promising to pay her back when his salary is paid to him. She said it was a ploy to get money from her, and it is the same strategy he used to make money from the other ladies he had dated.

Frank has used his modus operandi to defraud many unsuspecting victims with the promise of helping them get recruited into the army.

But is it by force to marry a soldier at all costs? All the same, will you blame Esther for loving genuinely and spending on his dream man, whom she didn’t know was a shoeshiner?”
