EOCO has arrested 320 people in Kumasi in what it calls Ghana’s largest anti-human trafficking and QNET fraud operation to date.

The suspects are believed to be part of a network involved in fraud and human trafficking under the guise of QNET business activities.

According to the EOCO statement, initial assessments indicate that 25 of the 320 individuals are potential suspects, while the remaining 295 are deemed to be victims of human trafficking.

EOCO statement read, “The Economic and Organised Crime Office (E0CO) is pleased to announce a major breakthrough in its efforts to combat human trafficking and economic crime in Ghana.

Today, the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of EOCO carried out two simultaneous operations at two locations, resulting in the arrest of 320 individuals.

Initial assessments indicate that 25 of the 320 individuals are potential suspects, while the remaining 295 are deemed to be victims of human trafficking, and employment seems penetrated under the guise of ONET”.

It further added, “The operations are a result of meticulous investigations conducted by E0CO over several months, demonstrating our commitment to detecting. Investigating and prosecuting economic and organised crime. The suspects and victims are currently undergoing screening, and the 25 suspects will be subject to further investigations. This operation marks the largest anti-human trafficking operation in the country, following an earlier raid two weeks ago that led to the arrest of over 26 persons in Kasoa.

EOCO is working closely with QNET to clamp down on the misuse of their brand name to traffic and defraud innocent individuals. We commend the collaborative efforts of QNET in this regard and look forward to continued cooperation to bring perpetrators to justice”.

EOCO further assured the public of its continued commitment to fighting economic and organised crime.

Meanwhile, Renowned media personality Nathan Kwabena Anokye Adisi, popularly known as Bola Ray, has said QNET does not operate as a Ponzi or investment scheme.

Bola Ray has been officially unveiled as a QNET Agent and Spokesperson in Ghana.

According to Bola Ray, QNET is a global lifestyle and wellness-focused direct selling company which does not deal as a travel agency nor does it offer scholarships.

Speaking at the event, Bola Ray stated, “I stand before you today, with immense excitement as I officially join the QNet family. This moment is not just a professional milestone for me; it is a dream come true and also a commitment to contribute to a reputable organisation.

Qnet is a global wellness and lifestyle company focused on direct selling, and they are there for the people”.

He further added, “We operate transparently and ethically, as you heard the deputy chairman say. Like many multinational companies, we face some challenges from scammers who misuse our name and brand for their fraudulent activities.

I have heard and read many posts with people offering fake jobs, scholarships, travel services and a whole lot more, but let me be clear”,

Bola Ray boldly declared, “Q-Net is neither a travel agency nor does it offer scholarships or operate as a Ponzi or investment scheme”.

“We are committed to building a future where direct selling is respected and ethical. My friends in the media, it is essential that we help the public verify claims before associating them with our name,” he added.
