News“Sulley Muntari is safe and currently residing in Dubai” – Anim Addo debunks arrest rumours

Samuel Anim Addo, the Manager and representative of Former Black Stars Striker Asamoah Gyan, has dismissed reports suggesting former Black Stars Midfielder Sulley Muntari was arrested in Dubai.

In an official statement shared on his verified X account, Anim Addo revealed Sulley Muntari is safe and currently residing in Dubai.

He wrote, “Sulley Muntari is safe and currently residing in Dubai, where he is focused on his personal affairs and business activities.

We urge the public to disregard the false reports circulating in the media. The outlets responsible for these publications are hereby warned to retract their statements and issue an apology. Failure to do so will result in legal action by Sulley Lawyers”.

His statement comes following news that Former Black Stars and Inter Milan player Sulley Ali Muntari has reportedly been detained in Dubai.

Sully Muntari, who played for several top European clubs, including AC Milan, Portsmouth, and Inter Milan, also had a short stint with Accra Hearts of Oak.

He was also part of the iconic Inter Milan team led by Jose Mourinho that won the treble in 2010.

Sully Muntari was also a member of the legendary Black Stars team that went all the way to the quarter-finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

According to reports, Sully Muntari has been stuck in Dubai for some time now.

Details surrounding the former Black star player’s arrest are scanty, but authorities say investigations are underway.

Sully Muntari is the second high-profile Ghanaian to have been detained in the United Arab Emirates in recent months.

Also, former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has shared a cryptic post on X, “The disturbing news I am hearing from Dubai is not pleasant. I pray the news is not true”.
