The Juaboso District Police Command has arrested a self-acclaimed spiritualist and suspected armed robber, Victor Biney, alias Abeiku.

Victor Biney has been arrested for leading a violent attack on miners at Sehwi Antobia in the Western North Region.

The suspect is already on the wanted list for multiple robbery cases for his alleged involvement in a violent robbery attack on a mining site at Sefwi Antobia in the Western North Region.

According to police reports, Biney and a group of accomplices stormed a mining site in an attempted robbery.

The State News in a post on X stated, “A subsequent search on him uncovered talismans, a firearm, AAA cartridges, knives, torchlights, and other items believed to be used in his illegal activities.

Investigations reveal that Biney is connected to several robbery incidents within the Juaboso area. He also has an active case at the Bibiani Circuit Court, with judgment scheduled for December 9, 2025.

Sources further allege that he has been recruiting young men and providing them with supposed “black powers” claimed to offer protection against guns and cutlasses”.

Victor Biney has since been arraigned before the Juaboso Magistrate Court and remanded into police custody for two weeks as investigations continue.

His arrest followed a complaint that seven armed, masked men had attacked miners at a site near Sefwi Antobia, assaulted them with cutlasses, and stolen quantities of gold concentrate and several mobile phones.

The police are on a manhunt to arrest the remaining accomplices currently at large so they can face the full rigours of the law.

In related news, the Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of four suspects for the murder of Nana Owusu Korkor, the destooled Akwamuhene of Tanoso in the Bono East Region.

According to the Police statement, the suspects were arrested between Monday, November 10, and Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

The suspects have been identified as Issifu Addae (alias Akwasi Addae), aged 48, Stephen Gyamfi, aged 55, Augustine Arhinful, aged 42, and Martha Mansah, aged 65.

The deceased had reportedly been destooled but contested the decision, leading to disputes.

According to police sources, all four suspects have denied any involvement in the killing during interrogation but are in custody, assisting investigations, while police pursue four others linked to the case.

The findings suggest the late destooled chief had been accused of misappropriating five gold bars belonging to the family, and also illegally selling family land.

The suspects Issifu Addae, Stephen Gyamfi, Sampson, and Fosu allegedly visited the disputed land to stop the developer from continuing work and threatened to teach the deceased a lesson.

The Police Investigators further suspect the newly installed Akwamuhene, Nana Akyeampong Duodu, might have masterminded the murder.

Nana Akyeampong Duodu is said to have travelled to the United States at the time of the murder to establish an alibi.
