A former convict turned preacher, Evangelist Richard Nyarko, has shared information about Ghanaian preacher Mama Pat, alias Agradaa.

Evangelist Richard Nyarko, who spent two decades behind bars, has revealed he personally saw Evangelist Patricia Asiedua doing well in prison and actively preaching.

Speaking in an interview with Channel One TV on November 30, 2025, “Our sister Patricia is doing well by the grace of God. I saw her last Sunday…All I can say is that, as the scripture says, ‘before I was afflicted, I went astray.’ It will surprise us that some of these people will come out and do great things. I will not campaign for the government to intervene, but the Lord will orchestrate her freedom in His time”.

The last time I went, she was preaching before I entered. I saw her preaching, but normally, when an external pastor comes in, they give way for those who came from outside”.

Meanwhile, a viral video has emerged of Ghanaian preacher Mama Pat, alias Agradaa, being escorted out of court.

In the viral video shared on social media by multiple accounts, Agradaa was being escorted by Ghana Prison Officers after appearing before the Amasaman High Court.

Agradaa was seen dressed in a white top and a black skirt, with nose marks and was escorted by about six prison officers as she entered the Ghana Prison Service bus.

According to reports, Nana Agradaa appeared before the Amasaman High Court to appeal to the court to reduce her 15-year jail sentence.

Her legal team prayed the court for a short adjournment when the case was called before a new judge, indicating that the defence would adopt the earlier proceedings rather than begin the trial afresh.

Agradaa was convicted in July 2025 for defrauding church members through a money-doubling scheme.

Her team seeks to have the conviction and sentence overturned.

Agradaa is serving a 15-year jail term after she was sentenced for two counts of defrauding by false pretences.

She was sentenced by Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah of the Circuit Court.

Agradaa was also fined GH¢300 for one count of charlatanic advertisement, with a 30-day custodial sentence in default of payment.

Her charges stem from a televised advertisement she aired in 2022.

In the ad, Agradaa claimed she has the power to double the money for her congregants at the Godsway International Heaven Church, misleading them into surrendering their money during an all-night church service at her Weija-based ministry in Accra.

According to the Judge, Evelyn Asamoah, Agradaa skilfully executed the offences and showed no remorse during proceedings.
