“Mahama’s return in 2028 will be disastrous” – Prophet Bediako warns NDC

News“Mahama’s return in 2028 will be disastrous” - Prophet Bediako warns NDC

Prophet Nana Bediako, the founder of the God’s Believers Chapel, has warned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against pushing President John Mahama to run for a third term.

Speaking to his congregation in an old video that surfaced, the man of God warned the NDC that any attempt by the party to bring back John Mahama again on the ballot will lead to the NDC going into opposition for over twelve years.

Prophet Nana Bediako warned, “The NDC must listen if you attempt to initiate any move to return President John Mahama for a third term. Such an attempt will be disastrous for the party, and they will remain in opposition for over twelve years.

After Mahama’s four years, if the NDC still pushes him, they are going to lose, disastrously, which has never happened before”.

However, Prophet Samuel Henry, popularly known as Prophet Roja, has also stated President John Dramani Mahama will run for a third term in office by winning the 2028 elections.

The man of God claimed that the parliament would make some amendments to certain laws in 2026, which would allow President Mahama to contest for a third term.

According to Prophet Roja, he has seen this from the realm of the spirit, with the parliamentary process unfolding in 2026, eventually impacting the 2028 general elections.

He revealed that the political landscape of Ghana would remain unchanged.

Speaking in an interview on Angel FM, Prophet Roja stated, “Parliament will make an amendment to a law that will ensure that an existing arrangement remains… I have seen it that President Mahama will go for a third term, and he will win it”.

Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has already made a bold declaration that he will not be a candidate in Ghana’s next elections.

According to John Mahama, stepping aside in 2028 would give him the moral authority to hold the line when it comes to Ghana’s fiscal discipline in an election year.

Mahama, during a bilateral discussion with Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, criticised the practice of incumbent governments by-passing fiscal safeguards to curry favour with voters, a cycle he will end.

“I will not be a candidate in the next elections, and therefore I can hold the line when it comes to fiscal discipline,” he said.

John Mahama’s declaration finally put an end to the growing speculation that he may seek another term in 2028.

Also, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has shut down calls from some sections of Ghanaians calling on President John Dramani Mahama to run for a third term.

According to Asiedu Nketiah, the NDC has no plan to present President John Mahama again for the 2028 election.

He emphasised that they have never run the NDC in ways that conflict with the 1992 constitution.

The NDC chairman boldly added that the party will stick by the tenets of the Constitution, which states that a president is only entitled to two terms.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s Face to Face on Tuesday, August 26, Asiedu Nketia detailed, “We have never run our party in ways that conflict with the national constitution, and we don’t intend to do that,” he said. “We will stick by the tenets of the Constitution.”
