Former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has questioned NPP delegates on whether they will vote for Kennedy Agyapong, someone who insults women.
Sarah Adwoa Safo urged the NPP delegates not to vote for a candidate who insults and disrespects women, arguing that how will women vote for Kennedy Agyapong if elected as flagbearer.
According to Adwoa Safo, Kennedy Agyapong insulted her when her issue came up and criticised her father for not being able to sanction or discipline her.
Speaking to NPP delegates, Adwoa Safo stated, “Are you going to elect a candidate who insults women? How will women vote? Are you going to cast your vote for someone who insults women? Didn’t Hon Kennedy Agyapong insult me when my issue came up?” she asked.
“He said I am disrespectful, that I have spent taxpayers’ money, and that I am being pampered by Akufo-Addo. He said I was useless and that my father couldn’t sanction or discipline me. He said these things, and the videos are there,” she recalled.
“If you don’t listen and go ahead to elect him, that will be a problem. The NDC is waiting for you [delegates] to elect him so they can use his records and videos of insulting people, including me, the mother of his two kids, and so imagine what he will do to you,” she cautioned.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong has stated that one of his opponents in the NPP presidential race, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, does not exist in his life.
According to the former Assin Central MP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is behind Abronye and co who have been insulting him.
Speaking on UTV, Kennedy Agyapong stated, “I can survive with anything; I do not have time for them, but that does not mean they have to rig the election. I believe in the structures, and I know all the Electoral Commission officials my opponents have engaged with. They plan to use the party’s internal security to humiliate anyone who comes close,”
“I do not have time for Bawumia; in my life, he doesn’t exist. What Abronye and co is doing, Bawumia is behind it, but I just don’t want to say anything; all those insulting me, he knows them, but I don’t want to say anything”.
He further recounted a prior incident at the residence of former President Nana Akufo-Addo.
The former lawmaker added, “Some time ago, something happened at the residence of former President Akufo-Addo. I mentioned a certain man’s name; there was nobody there when I left. The next day, it was posted on social media, but I do not have anything against anybody”.
When asked if he will campaign for Dr Bawumia or not if he emerges victorious, Kennedy Agyapong added, “Did I not campaign for him during the recent election? After that, did he even call me to appreciate my efforts? His followers were even insulting me. The only loyal person from his camp was NAPO. I took him to my warehouse and gave out items freely. He had young boys who claimed that I never campaigned”.
Kennedy Agyapong further revealed he does not listen to social media and the news as he remains focused on his goals.
“Do you know what helps me? I don’t listen to social media, I don’t listen to the news, I stay focused”, he added.
