Bishop Obinim’s multi-storey hotel property at Ashale Botwe catches fire

A multi-storey hotel property at Ashale Botwe, reportedly owned by Ghanaian man of God, Bishop Daniel Obinim, has caught fire.

Reports suggest the blaze started around 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2026, with the top floor of the building catching fire under unclear circumstances.

According to reports, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly to the scene and are working to contain the blaze and prevent further damage.

In a social media post shared by SIKAOFFICIAL, read, “At around 5:00 am this morning, a raging fire broke out on the top floor of a multi-storey hotel property at Ashale Botwe, reportedly owned by Ghanaian man of God, Bishop Daniel Obinim.

The Ghana National Fire Service is currently at the scene, with fire tenders from the Madina, Adenta, and University of Ghana Fire Stations working to bring the blaze under control”.

Another X user sharing the news wrote, “A guesthouse belonging to Bishop Daniel Obinim in Ashale Botwe has been gutted by fire.

The blaze affected the top floor of the building early Thursday morning, April 9, 2026. Ghana National Fire Service personnel are at the scene working to contain it.

The guesthouse is located on the same compound as Obinim’s private residence and television station. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

This incident comes months after Obinim challenged the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) over GH¢769,000 in alleged unpaid taxes (rent tax and VAT) related to the guesthouse for the period 2014–2018”.
