Kudus Mohammed, the Black Stars forward, risks missing the FIFA World Cup 2026 following a fresh injury blow.

Reports suggest that Kudus was due to return from injury this month following his injury in Tottenham Hotspur’s draw against Sunderland in January.

Former Spurs’ head coach Igor Tudor last month suggested Kudus Mohammed was set to return in two weeks.

“So we have these three weeks after the game on Sunday. He will probably do some part of the things with the squad maybe 10 days [after the break],” the Croatian had told football. london.

“I don’t know, I’m not sure. We need to check, but he is progressing very well. Already a little bit with the ball.”

According to reports, Kudus has not trained with Spurs since that interview and has now aggravated the injury.

Sports Journalist with 3 sports, Owuraku Ampofo, in a post on X stated, “ Mohammed Kudus is set to undergo surgery after relapsing on his hamstring injury. 25/yo’s participation at the World Cup is in doubt after scans yesterday revealed a fresh injury.

The Ghanaian was hopeful of returning and even trained individually on Monday. He’s not expected to play for Spurs again this season”.

Reports now going around suggest Kudus will miss the rest of the season and may miss Ghana’s World Cup campaign in June.

In related news, Kofi Adams, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, has disclosed that Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, will get a new coach by April 13, 2026.

The Sports Minister disclosed that Ghana’s search for a new coach for the Black Stars is in its final stage.

Speaking on Channel One TV, Kofi Adams stated, “Hopefully, if by this weekend we don’t announce the coach, latest by Monday [April 13, 2026], we should be able to announce our new coach. We’ve come very far. They still have just a few more to talk to”.

“Between Friday and Monday, we should be able to let you know.”

Otto Addo was sacked following a series of poor performances from the Black Stars, capped with a 2-1 defeat to Germany just a few hours ago on Monday, March 30, 2026.

Earlier, the Black Stars were humiliated by  Austria on March 27, 2026, after a 5-1 thrashing.

The association extended its gratitude to the coach for his service to the country.

In the statement confirming the decision, the Ghana FA said, “The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has parted ways with the head coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo, effective immediately.

“The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours,” parts of the statement read.

It added, “The Ghana Football Association will communicate the new technical direction of the Black Stars in due course.”
