Samuel Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has cautioned the Chairman of the Constitutional Review Committee (CRC), Professor Henry Kwasi Prempeh, following his constant media engagements after submitting the CRC report to President Mahama.
Mr Anyidoho claimed that Professor Henry Kwasi Prempeh’s constant media engagement will destroy his own work.
According to Koku Anyidoho, Professor Henry Kwasi Prempeh has no business engaging in extensive public commentary, arguing that the more he talks, the more he will sound like a very partisan politician.
Koku Anyidoho, responding to the CRC Chairman’s recent interview, wrote, “If you don’t keep quiet and continue talking “bla-bla-bla”, you will destroy your own work ooo HKP. You have finished your work; allow the Government’s White Paper to speak for itself. Prof Fiadzo did not speak the way you are speaking when he chaired the First CRC. The more you speak; the more you will sound like a very partisan politician”.
Koku Anyidoho further reminded Professor Henry Kwasi Prempeh that he is not the first person to chair a Constitutional Review Committee (CRC).
He noted that when Prof Albert Fiadzo chaired the CRC under the late President Atta-Mills, there was no media blitz.
In a separate post Koku Anyidoho stated, “HKP; you are NOT the first person to have Chaired a CRC. Prof Albert Fiadzo did it before you under President Atta-Mills. You have finished your work; why all this media blitz as if what you have done is cast in iron? Why don’t you just keep quiet and wait for the Government White Paper? Chill!!!!”
Meanwhile, Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser of the NPP, has announced that the party has established a committee to examine the Constitutional Review Committee(CRC) proposals submitted to President John Mahama.
According to Henry Nana Boakye, the NPP General Secretary, has directed the committee to study the proposals and advise the National Council of the Party accordingly.
In a Facebook post, Nana B wrote, “As part of participating in the Constitutional Review process, the leadership of the NPP constituted a joint committee led by Hon. Anyimadu(Ranking member, Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of Parliament) and Frank Davies Esq. (Chairman, Constitutional & Legal Committee, NPP) to present proposals to the Constitutional Review Committee(CRC).
Following the submission of the CRC’s final proposals to the President yesterday, the General Secretary of the Party has directed the joint committee to study the proposals and advise the National Council of the Party accordingly.
Other members of the Joint committee were Hon. Hassan Tampuli, Hon OB Amoah, Hon. Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Gary Nimako ESQ, Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah, Hon Dr Mahama Tiah Abdul-Kabiru, Hon Fati Abubakar, and Hanifa Adjoa Yahaya.
All party members are encouraged to be cautious with their commentary on the proposals of the CRC as we await the outcome of the party’s joint committee’s study. The position of the Party on the final proposals submitted yesterday will soon be made public”.
