The Asamankese Circuit Court has remanded a father caught attempting to sell his 3-year-old son for GH₵1million for seven weeks.
The suspect, Coffie Agyemang, is expected to reappear before the Asamankese Circuit Court on March 11, 2026.
The news shared by CDR Africa read, “The father accused of attempting to sell his 3-year-old son for GH₵1 million has been remanded into police custody for seven weeks. He is expected to reappear before the Asamankese Circuit Court on March 11, 2026”.
Meanwhile, the young father arrested has been identified as Coffie Agyemang for allegedly attempting to sell his three-year-old son.
In a viral video shared on X by Prime Rakon on January 13, 2026, Coffie Agyemang was shown in the video in handcuffs being escorted to the police station following his arrest.
His three-year-old son was also seen in the video walking with one Police officer.
In the video, Akwatia TV narrated that the suspect, Coffie Agyemang, a resident of Kwamang, was arrested by the police after allegedly attempting to sell his son for GH¢1 million.
According to Akwatia TV, the suspect Coffie Agyemang had discussed plans to sell his son to a friend, alluding to financial hardship as his reason.
The narrator added that the police were alerted to the suspect’s intentions and subsequently posed as a buyer.
Also, during discussions with the police, Coffie Agyemang allegedly agreed to receive GH¢1 million from the buyer before he sells his three-year-old son.
He further negotiated that those buying the son, if they wish to kill him, can cut his body as they need, and later the remaining mortal remains would be handed over to him for burial.
Also, a netizen has shared a new update regarding a father who was arrested for allegedly trying to sell his son for GH¢1 million.
According to the netizen, the man wanted money to marry his newfound love, so he confided in his friend about his intention to sell the child.
The netizen wrote, “New developments have emerged in the case of the man who allegedly attempted to sell his 3-year-old son for GH¢1 million (10 billion old Ghana Cedis).
According to reports, the suspect, identified as Coffie Agyemang, a resident of Kwamang in the Eastern Region, had custody of the child after separating from the boy’s mother when the child was around 1 year old. Due to severe financial difficulties and because he wanted money to marry his newfound love, he confided in a friend about his intention to sell the child. The friend alerted the police, who launched an intelligence-led operation.
Officers placed the suspect under surveillance, posed as prospective buyers in an undercover sting, negotiated with him, and allegedly agreed on a price of GH¢1 million. Reports indicate that his plan was to sell the boy to individuals he believed were ritúalists, who would k!ll the child and hárvést bódy párts, after which they would return the remains to him so he could present them as evidence that his son had been múrdêred.
He was arrested during the arranged transaction. The 3-year-old boy is now in protective custody, and the suspect is assisting with investigations”.
