Reports suggest that some five armed men have robbed the Diaso Gold Shop in a daylight armed robbery.

According to the reports, the five armed men made away with Gold Worth GH¢800,000.

The attack was said to have been carried out on a busy market day in the Upper Denkyira West District while they fired shots to scare off residents.

Reports suggest one person in the Gold heist has been arrested as the Ghana Police Service mount a manhunt for the other four person.

The CDR Africa, which shared the robbery news on X, wrote, “Diaso Gold Shop Hit in Daylight Armed Robbery; Gold Worth GH¢800,000 Stolen.

Five armed men carried out the attack on a busy market day in the Upper Denkyira West District, firing warning shots to scare residents. The robbers escaped with gold and a pickup truck, abandoning their getaway vehicle.

Police have arrested one suspect, with four others still on the run as investigations continue”.

Some netizens reacting to the news express confidence in the Ghana Police Service’s ability to track and arrest the armed robbers, saying, “I think the Ghana Police force has been doing tremendously well with arresting criminal elements. We now need to do more to prevent the crimes from happening at all. Intelligence agencies need to be proactive”.

“They won’t last a week, they’ll all be arrested”, another added.

“Ghana police now this is very easy for them in the next days the rest will be rested sooner 🙌.

Just trust Ghana police, now we can all see that they’re really doing well”, one X user added.

Another Ghanaian stated, “Easy to catch them cuz there’s no escape route on that stretch unless they hid in a cocoa farm or bush. Police barriers at sefwi Bekwai, Asawinso B, Agona Port, Ayamfuri. No other route!!”.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police has been making a series of arrest with the lastest being announced by COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

She announced that the Ghana Police Service has arrested seven suspects in connection with a Tamale–Buipe highway.

According to COP Lydia Donkor, the highway robbery that occurred last year with a member of the Council of State was among the victims.

She announced that the suspect was arrested on January 11, 2026 and has been identified as Rashida Yussif, Aaron Abaana, Wilson Abasong, Muntaru Iddrisu, Aminu Zibrilla, Innusa Sumaila, and Haruna Safianu.
