Samuel Atta Akyea, the former Member of Parliament for Akim Abuakwa South, has said he does not hate the former Assin Central member of parliament, Ken Agyapong.

According to Atta Akyea, his remarks during the NPP flagbearer race were not personal attacks but strictly comparative.

Speaking on AsaasePa FM, Atta Akyea stated, “Let me be clear, I do not hate Ken Agyapong. My remarks dring flagnearer race were strictly comparative, not personal”.

It will be recalled that, ahead of the NPP presidential primaries, Atta Akyea fired several shots at Ken Agyapong.

Atta Akyea’s earlier comment he made, cautioning the New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates not to gamble and elect a leader who will go to the UN and insult World leaders.

Atta Akyea warned NPP delegates not to vote for Kennedy Agyapong, who will go and embarrass the country on the International stage during the United Nations Assembly.

He boldly told the NPP delegate not to vote for someone who would insult world leaders when he travels.

Speaking at a gathering of party faithful at Mpraeso in the Eastern region, Atta Akyea stated, “Someone just reminded me, if you gamble and vote for this man (Kennedy Agyapong) and he goes to the United Nations, you will hear motherfucker, Ghanaians will hear motherfucker, Ghanaians will hear a President saying motherfucker.

Have you heard Dr Bawumia ever say motherfucker before? I beg of you, don’t go and gamble”.

Later, Atta Akyea, in an interview on UTV, told Ken Agyapong that a president is someone who has shock absorbers.

According to Atta Akyea, he is scared of Kennedy Agyapong’s temperament, adding that he could beat someone in Cabinet as President.

Speaking on UTV, Atta Akyea stated, “In God’s name, I will not say I have a problem with Kennedy Agyapong, I don’t even have one problem with him, but to be a president it demands a lot of things.

I am scared of Kennedy Agyapong’s temperament; I am afraid that if God is not merciful to us, he could beat someone in the Cabinet as President. He does not have a heart. I know him like the back of my palm.

There is no way you can tell Ken to calm down, in public is where he show of his temperament, things that should not be in public he does not know how to do them”.

Atta Akyea further highlighted that as president, one must have shock absorbers, which Ken Agyapong does not have.

He stressed that when competence, temperament, intellectual prowess, and vision are combined, Bawumia is ahead of Ken Agyapong.

Atta Akyea stated, “The temperament of a president is someone who has shock absorbers; it is not someone who wants to fight people if they have an issue. He is my classmate. I would have followed him so that he would appoint me as Chief of Staff. Hostile language, insulting behaviours, from a leader of the nation.

We can open doors for him as a businessman to run a big business, but if we combine competence, temperament, intellectual prowess, and vision, Bawumia is ahead. When he has gotten to how do we tame his temperament, it cannot be done, even what you are telling him is offensive to him. Those following him today are even afraid to talk to him”.
