Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has revealed he dreamt of becoming a pilot, a lawyer, or even the president.

According to Shatta Wale, he always had the dream to lead and make an impact.

He recounted that his peers often listened to him and took his words seriously,

Shatta Wale revealed that his love for aviation sometimes made him spend hours playing pilot simulation games.

Speaking on Joy Prime, Shatta Wale stated, “With law, it’s not too late, but I don’t think it suits my schedule now. For politics, it’s in my blood. My dad is a politician; he worked with the late JJ Rawlings and his wife Nana Konadu, so I could have pursued if I wanted.”

He further revealed he was not the best student in class, but he has been able to figure it out in life.

Shatta Wale also praised his father, Shatta Capo, for instilling in him the habit of self-education and discipline.

He recalled, “My father valued self-education. His principle was ‘know thyself and align with your dreams.’ I was never in the last ten until SHS; that was my wake-up call, and it never happened again” .

“I wish I had pursued those because music has been stressful. But I always say whatever God plans for you is the best,” he said with a laugh.

The Dancehall artiste added, “My parents were strict, but education-wise wise I wasn’t good; my sisters were also doing well, even though I was not last from primary to Junior high school.

When I went to the SHS the first time, I saw myself in the last 10; I was shocked. So I got some friends in school, we were not going to class, like stuff like that”.

He added, “My parents, my dad was more like no dire self spirit, education was part of the plan, all he wanted me to know was just be aware of myself, who I am, and what I am in the world to do. What career can I pursue to be very successful? My dad was self-educated; he was always teaching me in the house.

Even though I still have problems with him, he really took me to a school of life. I tell my team all the time I am not intelligent, I am not the best guy in class, but I have been able to figure out what life is, so I move accordingly”.

Also, Shatta Wale in the same interview acknowledged the work of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) boss Raymond Archer.

According to Shatta Wale, what Raymond Archer arrested him was God-ordained.

The dancehall artiste revealed that Raymond Archer is now his best friend and feels God sent him to educate all Ghanaians on how to buy properties from the right source.

He added, “Raymond Archer is now my best friend. I feel God sent him for us to educate the people of Ghana, that is what he did on how to buy cars from the right sources.

So, that is one of the problems we have solved in this country; people might think he arrested me, but all that he did was God-ordained; he has really opened our eyes to certain things”.

He added, “It is about time the youth have to be wise and know how to purchase properties, that is what I am doing right now”.
