Samson Lardy Anyenini, a renowned broadcaster and lawyer, has backed Sammy Darko, the Director of Strategy, Communication, and Research at the OSP revelations of being beaten by 17 policemen.
Sammy Darko on NewsFile revealed that the Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng has survived two assassination attempts.
According to Sammy Darko, the Special Prosecutor has survived two attempted attacks on his life, and he (Sammy Darko) was reportedly handcuffed and assaulted by seventeen police officers.
Sammy Darko is quoted by JOY NEWS to have said, “The Special Prosecutor has survived two assassination attempts, and I have been handcuffed and beaten by 17 policemen”.
Samson Lardy Anyenini revealed that he was a witness to Sammy Darko being arrested at Tesano by dozens of police men.
He revealed he has a video of Sammy Darko being arrested by dozens of police officers, but cannot show it as the video has been embargoed.
The renowned broadcaster further highlighted that the OSP assassination attempt happened at the time they were investigating recruitment scams.
According to Samson Lardy Anyenini, top military generals in Ghana know about the OSP assassination attempt.
Speaking on NewsFile, Samson Lardy Anyenini narrated, “In October 2022, when Sammy Darko was arrested, I was a witness at Tesano. Police were called in two different vehicles to come after him because he was refusing arrest, sitting in an OSP vehicle. He was in the middle somewhere in the road, and rolled up his windows so that they could not arrest him.
“Eventually, they arrested him. He was beaten up. He was detained. I am a witness. In fact, a report was made”.
He added, “The OSP assassination attempt, look at how quickly we are to dismiss it. But top military generals in this country know about it. Top security people knew about it at the time, at the time when his security details were being withdrawn from him.
“People have seen evidence of his vehicle, the SP vehicle, being shot at, and he was taken for dead.
“When he was not in this country, people were complaining that he was operating from abroad. Do you know how he got there? There are facts, and there are many people who know about it. Let’s not be too quick to dismiss. Let’s look for the evidence, and once we have the evidence, let’s deal with the evidence. If you are too quick to believe everybody else, except people who are affected, that is a big problem,” he said.
Samson Lardy Anyenini reiterated, “I confirm to you that, yes, Sammy Darko was arrested by dozens of police officers. I have a video of it – it’s embargoed, I cannot show it. Reports of the OSP assassination, many people in this country who are at the top of the security organisations, they know that was the period when they were investigating recruitment scams, recruitment scams at the police and other places. You think it was for nothing that they were not getting support from the police and other places; there was a reason.”
