The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, an aspiring NPP National Chairman, has said he has been through so many hardships and he has learnt from them.
According to Chairman Wontumi, the NPP made a lot of mistakes in power, and if they return to power in 2028, the things they did in the past will not be repeated.
Speaking to party faithfuls in the central region, Chairman Wontumi stated, “We have made a lot of mistakes when we were in power recently; we did not look after things properly. Now that we are in opposition, Chairman Wontumi, I have been through so many hardships, and I have learned from them”.
“If we are to win back power in 2028, the things that happened in the past will not happen again”, he added.
In related news, Chairman Wontumi, has beg Presiednt John Dramani Mahama for forgiveness.
According to Chairman Wontumi, he is not too big to take advice or to ask for forgiveness from President Mahama.
Speaking in a viral video shared on social media stated, “If I meet Mahama, he is our president. At the time he was contesting, I had to work for my party. But now he is our president, so what I will tell him is that the same way Akufo-Addo handed over to him, he should also hand over to Dr Bawumia”.
“We are all humans, when we get somewhere, if I have said something against him, if it’s not good, it’s not good and I am not bigger than advice, and I am not bigger to say, so if I have done something wrong, I will say I am sorry”.
Chairman Wontumi’s plea comes on the heels of his close affiliate, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw, who have said President John Dramani Mahama is seeking vengeance against the NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman.
According to Lawyer Ampaw, Mahama is seeking vengeance after Chairman Wontumi accused him of having an affair with his maid.
He alleged that President Mahama is abusing his power and influence to orchestrate Chairman Wontumi’s imprisonment as a means of retaliation for the criticisms he has directed at his family.
Speaking on Wontumi TV, Lawyer Ampaw stated, “I look at Ghana, and I can see doom. The president is full of vengeance. Mahama laughs with people but punishes them later. Look at what he is doing to Agradaa.
Chairman Wontumi disrespected Mahama; he accused Mahama of sleeping with his maid, and that thing still pains Mahama, so Mahama personally wants Wontumi to be jailed, and also Ibrahim Mahama wants the same.
The president is the only one who can free you from jail in Ghana; even if the court jails you, the president can pardon you. So when the president is annoyed with you, you are doomed”, he added.
Also, Paul Yandoh, the Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who has said he is planning on reaching the First Lady, Lordina Mahama, to beg President Mahama on behalf of Chairman Wontumi.
According to Paul Yandoh, Chairman Wontumi was personal and went overboard with some of his utterances against President Mahama.
Paul Yandoh called on John Dramani Mahama to pardon Wontumi for any sins he committed against him.
Yandoh further revealed his plans to lead a delegation to meet Mrs Lordina Mahama, to plead on behalf of Chairman Wontumi for forgiveness.
