Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the former managing director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, has said he is not corrupt and will never be corrupt.
According to Kofi Jumah, his only weakness is womanising.
Maxwell Kofi Jumah also touched on his retirement plan, adding that he desires to retire on a beach with a young girl.
The former GIHOC boss detailed that he desires warmth from the beach and a baddie who will rub his head.
Speaking on Accra-based Asaasepa FM, Maxwell Kofi Jumah stated, “Where I have got to in life, I should be residing at a beach with a young girl taking a cocktail while a young girl gives me the warmth I need. I am past active politics, where we have to be shouting and arguing about politics.”
“I’m not corrupt and I will never be corrupt, but my weak point is womanising. I love women, but you can never attach corruption and bribery to me because it is not in my nature”.
“I will continue to stand for the truth even when I’m standing between death and life. No worker of GIHOC can say I took money from him or her before employing him or her to GIHOC,” Kofi Jumah stated.
However, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited, Magdalene Ndamley has alleged that Kofi Jumah took a GH¢40,000 weekly allowance for GIHOC.
She accused him of causing the massive debts at the GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited.
Speaking in an interview on Radio XYZ on May 2, 2025, stated, “You couldn’t challenge him on financial matters. We have called him about the official car, and he says he won’t return it because GIHOC owes him”.
“This man has plunged GIHOC into huge debts. Every Friday, he instructed that GH¢40,000 be handed to him. He was already receiving a fuel allowance and his regular salary, yet he demanded an additional envelope of GH¢40,000 every Friday at 2:00 p.m. Even when he was not at work, the amount was sent to him via mobile money,” she added, speaking in Twi.
Meanwhile, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has been granted bail in the sum of GHS500,000 with two sureties.
He was earlier arrested in connection with the alleged theft of company vehicles.
On Monday, June 30, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) granted him bail.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Yaako Donkor confirmed the arrest during a press briefing.
She stated, “We received the petition to the effect that some vehicles, which were the property of that company, have been stolen by the said Maxwell Kofi Jumah. He is in our custody at the CID headquarters, and he is assisting in an investigation.
“I must say that as of this afternoon, we have retrieved three vehicles; the said vehicles that were stolen by him have been retrieved, so he is really assisting us in the investigation, and we will take it up from there,” she said.
Meanwhile, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has responded to national security storming his house over an alleged state vehicle in his possession.
In a Facebook post, he wrote, “I hear the Mahama people want to come for the GIHOC car in my possession. Can someone tell them that the car is parked safely? They can come for it. They should also prepare to hand over my properties to me. It is more than the car. A whole lot more. Interesting times ahead”.
