Kwame Baffoe, the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, commonly known as Abronye DC, has accused Kennedy Agyapong of working against the party in the run-up to the 2024 election.
Abronye accused Kennedy Agyapong of deliberately increasing the price of gas in November 2024, as the Chairman of Ghana Gas, to make Dr Bawumia unpopular ahead of the election.
Speaking on his show on Ohia TV, Abronye stated, “Gas was increased about 8 per cent to affect Bawumia, for Ghanians to be mad and vote against him. he deliberately did that, because he was the Board Chairman of Ghana Gas”.
When he was not voted as the NPP presidential candidate, he decided to punish the party by increasing the price of gas for Ghanaians to vote against the NPP. In November 2024, he increased it. After that, he is now telling us that Bawumia is a bad candidate.
He further added, “There was a video about Kennedy Agyapong claiming that all the astroturf in the country was being done by the Ghana Gas. After they voted against him, Kennedy Agyapong claimed he was not going to construct any more astroturf”.
In related news, Abronye has accused Kennedy Agyapong’s bodyguard of orchestrating his second arrest on October 8, 2025.
According to Abronye, the bodyguard reportedly petitioned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to use his platform to insult his boss, Kennedy Agyapong.
Speaking on his Ohia TV show on October 8, 2025, Abronye detailed, “I went to the police station as usual, per the court order, and I was told to write my charge statement.
In less than 20 minutes, I wrote it and was waiting for them to release me. But I saw some police officers come to arrest me again for the same offence that I had earlier been remanded for”.
He added, “This time, it was Seth Sewornu who was the complainant. The day I went to the police headquarters and got remanded, Hon Kennedy Agyapong’s bodyguard brought a petition to Seth Sewornu.
He came to greet me because he knows me. Today, the same bodyguard who brought the petition that I used my platform to insult Kennedy Agyapong has brought another petition, claiming I have used the platform to insult Seth Sewornu. So, today’s charges, Kennedy Agyapong’s bodyguard is behind them”.
Abronye further revealed that he was detained for nine hours and was later granted bail of ₵1 million.
He recounted, “They detained me from morning, around 9 A.M., till 5:30 P.M. in the evening before I was granted bail of ₵1 million”.
He further detailed that Yaw Adjei Sarkodie and Moses Abbor stood surety for his bail, together with Poyoo, a former member of the Security Operations Unit at the Jubilee House.
Additionally, Abronye has revealed he is fully prepared to face the NPP’s committee and defend his actions against Kennedy Agyapong.
He called for a live broadcast as he agreed to face the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Disciplinary Committee following his referral for alleged misconduct.
Abronye revealed he is prepared to provide evidence of Kennedy Agyapong’s anti-Christ actions and inactions.
“I hereby write to indicate my full preparedness and willingness to appear before the Committee to comprehensively lay bare and substantiate the anti-Christ actions and inactions of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong,” Abronye stated.
Abronye further propose that the sittings of the committee be conducted openly and broadcast live so the rank and file of the NPP may have the opportunity to witness Kennedy Agyapong’s antichrist posture and conduct.
